Loki
The first timeline we are set to look into is code-named Demoted Gods. We give every single timeline a different name based on something that makes them unique or special so we can easily identify them if need be. I wish I could say it was my idea, but it was actually Sylvie's, I'll just take the credit for it so she doesn't see how much I actually appreciate it.
We called this one Demoted Gods because in this timeline Thanos's goal was to get the infinity stones so he could make the Gods and Goddesses weak so he would have an easier time unfairly giving aid to planets in wars without much of a motive. Yes, it was weird, but I had no idea if this meant my own power was going to be weaker when stepping into that timeline, but only time would tell.
As Mobius and I were getting prepared to head into the timeline, he hands me a pair of daggers. My heart soars with adoration for the man, while I blush and accept the wonderful gifts. If love is a dagger, then it doesn't always hurt. Someone can gift you a dagger to stab you with it (repeatedly), but sometimes it can be gifted to someone to protect them in the future...giving them love so you can in turn return the favor.
I turn the daggers invisible for the time being and slip on the old variant jacket that Mobius gave me (just for sentimental reasons, since it was my first real gift from him). We head out to the exact point in the timeline that made it 'coil' like Sylvie said it did.
Bracing myself for any amalgamation for things, I didn't expect to see a world on fire, struck by poverty. The Gods and Goddesses are running around attempting to do what they can to extinguish the fire, but it's already lept to the ceiling and roof of the wooden structure, unable to squish it. Within the house, itself, or what we could see through the windows, was a handful of giggling babies and toddlers sprawled out on mats or in prams.
On instinct, I run into the burning building to grab as many stupid little ones as possible, only to be tackled by Thor.
Forgetting all about the burning building filled with babies, Thor rushes to bear hug me, crying. A swell of emotions swirls around inside of me, but I give in and embrace him for the smallest moment before going to help save the children. I don't know why this is creating a bridge to another timeline...is this Asgard's dying attempt to save these children?
Whatever the case is, through the pouring rain, I take as many tiny kids out of the house as possible, filling up my arms with four to five before depositing them on a mat outside. At this point I'm not even thinking about how this will affect the timeline, I'm just thinking of myself as a baby boy, blue and laying alone in the fields of Jountiheim.
My brother runs in after me, "Loki! Stop! They aren't what you think they are!"
I pause for the second, two toddlers dangling from my grip, waiting for an explanation.
"They are frost giants! Let them perish the way all frost giants should!"
So apparently this Thor doesn't know about my origins...or maybe he does and says this directly to hurt me. I push past him as my lungs, although stronger than any mortals, fill with smoke. When I put these kids outside, there's Mobius on the ground next to them, trying to calm the now terrified infants. Mobius does wonders with kids, instantly calming around him and looking to him for warmth and care.
Heat to any frost giant is literal torture. It's the reason when we die we are sent to Musphellium so we can burn forever in torment. Heat is what Thanos tortured me with to make me give up the location of the tesseract...heat to a frost giant is like having every inch of your flesh electrified to a crisp black, the pain lingering on for months, even years...
