its spring. jay and joe went to visit shorty in costa rica; alex is working abroad; manny and luke are in college; haley, dylan and the twins went for a family vacation; phil went to see some of his old cheerleading friends; mitch, cam and lily are still in missouri; claire and gloria are at home. alone.
claires birthday is coming up and she knows how much gloria likes making expensive presents. claire told her to not buy or do anything because they are going to be alone anyway. gloria invited claire over to her house, just to drink some wine and watch a movie.
Its 7pm so claire decided to get ready. she was sad that no one of her kids (or her husband) were around but she also enjoyed being alone. At 8pm claire arrived at glorias and jays house. she walked in, not knowing that jay, joe and manny weren't there. as soon as gloria heard claire she screamed happy birthday and gave claire a glass of her favorite wine. after they talked a little about everything and everyone gloria pointed to the couch. claire and gloria sat down. "hey, what movie are we gonna watch?", claire asked. gloria didn't respond. a few moments after claires question the movie started. "TITANIC" was written on the big screen. claire looked over to gloria and smiled at her. titanic was claires favorite movie, even though she had to cry everytime she watched it. after an hour of watching and some crying gloria decided to get a blanket because it got cold. gloria came back with one blanket in her hand. gloria spread the blanket over claire and her. claire knew that gloria could've gotten two blankets but she wont complain. half way through the movie claire fell asleep, with her head on glorias shoulder. gloria looked at claire and smiled. she gave claire a kiss on the forehead and finished watching the movie. while the end credits were rolling over the screen claire woke up. she had a really bad headache because of the amount of wine she drunk. gloria noticed claire being awake and said: "good evening, sleeping beauty." claire blushed and asked for the time. it was 1am, time to go home. she told gloria that she will leave now but gloria didn't let her leave. gloria was worried because claire had way too much wine, so she just suggested claire to stay. claire nodded. "you can sleep in my bed, im gonna sleep here", gloria said. claire looked confused and said: "what? I have no problem with us sleeping together in one bed." claire took glorias hand and dragged her upstairs. gloria went to the bathroom to change. she was naked as claire accidently walked in. "oh im sorry, I didn't know you were in here", claire excused herself with a drunk tone in her voice. gloria put on her shirt quickly. "no its fine. we are both women", gloria smiled. claire got out of the bathroom and jumped into glorias bed. she immediately slept.
In the next morning, claire woke up all confused. she wasn't able to remember what happened last night. claire turned around and saw gloria sleeping next to her. claire got up and a few moments after that gloria woke up. "im sorry, I didn't mean to wake you up", claire said. "no no, everything okay. Im gonna make breakfast now", gloria responded. claire went to take a shower and gloria started making breakfast. after claire joined gloria she asked about last night. gloria told her that she has to much wine and wasn't able to drive home. claire smiled and thanked gloria for helping her.
what gloria didn't tell claire was that claire kissed her. it was after claire woke up and was really dizzy. gloria decided to not tell claire because claire was drunk and it probably didn't mean anything. "even though claire was drunk it felt amazing", gloria said to herself. gloria had a little crush on claire for a few years now but didn't tell her.
there was just one problem. gloria forgot that claire might be able to remember everything.
a few days after claires birthday and the whole thing with the kiss, gloria went over to claires house for the last girls weekend they are gonna have in the next time. everyone was coming back on monday. the moment claire saw gloria she remembered everything. before claire could say anything gloria pulled her in for a hug. claire loved glorias hugs. she always felt safe when she hugged her.
after the hug gloria asked how claire was feeling. she asked a few times but claire didn't respond. the moment gloria said claires name, claires thoughts were stopped. claire looked in glorias hazel eyes and leaned in for a kiss. to claires surprise gloria returned the kiss.
