1st Generation member Kanda Risa of Ninenzaka46 has resigned from the group following a family emergency.
On August 21, she announced her resignation via an Instagram post. The post read the following:
" Hello, this is Kanda Risa. Following a sudden emergency with my mother, I will be announcing my resignation from Ninenzkaa46.
This is a decision I did not want to make, but it's one I must make. My time in Ninenzaka46, despite being short, has been some of my best.
Though I never got to be on another Senbatsu track after our debut, singing in general just makes me very happy.
At this time, it's unknown if I will rejoin Ninenzaka46, but for the near future, I will be taking a hiatus from all entertainment related activities.
Thank you for reading my letter. Kanda Risa."
We wish Risa all the best in taking care of her mother.
