detention

where is she? she should be here by now. i up at the gym clock. she's late, as always. i turned around as i heard the gym door slam.
"sam, finally you're here, that asshole is making us-"
"not now!" sam interrupted me. she grabbed me by the sleeve and started to run out of the school.

as i got in the car, i shifted my gaze over to sam. she's so perfect, i love this girl.
i snapped out of it before she made fun of me.
"so anyways, what happened? why'd you rush out of the gym?" i asked.
"oh no reason!" sam laughed. her laugh is adorable.
"you got a staring problem?" she said with a laugh. seeing her happy makes me happy, i couldn't help but smile.
"you're so cute" she said with a smile. i love when she calls me cute, it just, makes me feel special. but like actually special. not just like when a little kid scribbles on paper and the parents act like it's the mona lisa, no, not like that. i feel like it's just us against the world. like i'm the luckiest girl in the world.

"where are we going again?" i asked her, trying to not make it obvious how starstruck i was.
"surprise!" sam said. i stuck my middle finger in her face, and she did it back. i can't believe this girl is all mine.

i jumped out of the car and slammed the door. the sound echoed in the empty parking lot.
"are you trying to kill me? again?" i asked sam.
"no, silly." she said with a smile. as she held my hand through the parking lot, i couldn't help but stare at her.
"i love you" i told her. she smiled. her smile makes me so happy and just makes me feel at ease, like no matter what, everything will be ok with sam.
"i love you too deena." she said with a smile. she could tell i was zoning out just thinking about her. she grabbed my shoulder and looked me in the eyes. then, she pulled me in to kiss me. i love this girl.
