"Come on there's lite refreshments inside." Toby said pulling me to my feet.I followed him back over to where my family and everyone else was. I could see my mum talking to Mrs. Anderson.
"I'll be right back." I said to Toby wandering over to get a cup of coffee.
I up ended two sugars into it and stirred furiously, it was a really bad thing to do staying here and being around all the mourners.
"I couldn't have said it better myself." a familiar person's voice.
I slowly turned around. There was Jane. "If your here to rub it in my face, I'm not interested." I said preparing to walk away.
"Please Jasmine just give me a chance to explain." Jane said looking genuinely hopeful.
"Why should I you made my high school life hell."
"I know and I regret the way I acted. Jasmine, do you believe people can change?" Jane asked.
I stared at her for a long moment, I thought about Corey. He had changed, I owe Jane at least a chance to prove it. "Yes Jane I do." I replied rather a long moment.
"I'm so sorry for everything I did to you, and getting invoices with Corey's father was stupid as well." she shook her clearly disgusted at herself.
"People make mistakes Jane." I said looking at her wedges and plain white dress, she had gone for the complete opposite look than I had.
"I'm sorry," she said and I could tell she meant it. "About Corey."
"I am too." I nodded.
"I would hug you but you probably wouldn't want me too." Jane said.
"I wasn't with him at the time he died. He kissed another girl, and I ended up meeting another guy. He probably thought I never forgave him."
"You're not the kind of person who holds a grudge forever, I'm sure he knows that you at least forgave him."
"You really have changed Jane. Thank you." I said as I felt a hand on the small of my back.
"Am I interrupting?" Toby asked.
"No we were just talking. Toby this is Jane, Jane this is my boyfriend Toby." I introduced them.
Jane shoved out her hand, "It's nice to meet you Toby." she smiled broadly.
"Jane and I went to high school together, she was dating Corey when I met him." I explained.
"Despite all his flaws Corey was a good guy." Jane replied. "And Jasmine you deserved him more than I ever did."
"We can't change the past, but we can make our own futures." I said to Jane.
"Friends?" Jane asked me.
"Friends." I said shaking her hand.
"Mrs. Anderson wants you to go home with her." Toby asked, "She's leaving now."
"It was nice to see you again Jane." I nodded and turned to walk away.
Toby waited until we were out of ear shot to ask me. "So who was she?"
"Just an old friend." I murmured.

I felt sick. Really sick. Mrs Anderson opened the front door of her house, Corey's house. I stared though the door like it was the house of horrors.Mrs Anderson led me up to Corey's room. "I haven't been in there since he passed away." she said quietly.
"You want me to go in there?" I asked my voice quivered.
She just nodded and walked away down the hallway. It was dark in his room and it still smelt strongly of his colon. I walked over to the curtains and pulled them open, I found myself in the same spot I had been the first time I had been in here.
*FLASHBACK*
-Jasmine-
Over at his house I picked up one of his boxes and opened it. Clothes. So I upended it all over the floor. I felt his hand rubbing my back. "What the hell are you doing?!" I asked and glared at him. "Just seeing what you would do." he smirked. I wish he wouldn't smirk like that it, was kind of sexy. SHUT UP I cursed myself yet again."I thought you would get all freaked out but you didn't." he frowned. "Just don't touch me again." I huffed.
*END OF FLASHBACK*
I looked around at his decor, I saw a picture gram with a photo of him and I. There was also a photo of just me, I didn't recognise the photo. When had that been taken?
Don't get me wrong it was a great photo of me, he must have taken it at random.
I walked up to them and picked both up hugging them close to my chest.
"You can have anything you want Jasmine." I spun and found Mrs Anderson standing there, her face was blank and her voice was hollow.
"No... I couldn't." I shook my head.
"Please... Jasmine I want you to take something at least." I turned to face her, her eyes drifted down to the two photos in my hands. "Do you want those?"
"I... ah, if I said no I'd be lying." I said I felt my eyes sting and my already bad vision blurred more.
I walked past Mrs. Anderson and kept walking toward the stair case, when she called out to me. "Jasmine wait."
"He left this for you." she handed me an envelope with 'Jasmine' in fancy writing on it
I hugged Corey's mum and thanked her, barely managing to make it to my room before I burst into tears on my bed.
I couldn't bring myself to open the envelope yet. It was really starting to dawn on me that he was actually gone.
