I look in the mirror and can't help but feel amazed. The outfit Alice chose for me is a pair of black ripped jeans and a light yellow shirt. My hair is French braided and Alice keeps trying to put makeup on me.
"Pleeeease?" She whines and I shake my head as I sit down at her desk. "No, I'm not allowed to wear makeup."
She puts her hand on her hip. "Neither am I but I still do." She rolls her eyes and checks the time on her alarm clock, 6:52. "Oh come on Aspen, just a little! We only have half an hour to get there."
I look at her confused. "I thought it starts at seven? Wouldn't it be in eight minutes." She sighs and mumbles something.
"Aspen, high school parties aren't like birthday parties or family reunions. You don't show up exactly when the party starts. You want to show up fifteen to half an hour after it's started." That makes absolutely no sense.
She turns towards her closet and pulls out her other makeup bag, how much makeup does she have that she's not supposed to? "Fine, no eyeshadow and all that but how about lipgloss? Nothing else, just lipgloss."
I sigh, "fine, what do you have?" Her eyes light up and she pulls out three different tubes. "Cherry, strawberry, or watermelon?" I give her the 'did you really just ask that?' look and she tosses me the watermelon lipgloss and I put it on.
"You can keep that one, I don't really use it." Alice says as she applies the cherry one to her lips. "Thanks," I say as I rub my lips. "It tastes like watermelon, too!"
She laughs. "Well duh." She grabs her ratings as she examines her outfit, which is the same as mine except she is wearing black high heels. "Let's go party!" She says happily.

I'm a block away from Tony Paul's house when I turn towards Alice. "Alice," I say seriously.
"Hmm?"
"I know you're a heavy drinker when it comes to parties. But tonight, will you please, please, please not drink?" I ask as I turn in to his street.
Alice bites her lip as she looks out the window. "Okay," she replies after several seconds of silence.
"How big is this party going to be? If it's to much, I don't want to stay for too long." I say nervously.
Alice chuckles before looking at me. "Aspen, Tony doesn't throw big parties like Stewart Williams. His parties only have Budweiser, whiskey, and soda and only about twenty to, sometimes, thirty people." She smiles, "so chill."
I sigh and park across the street from his house and we jump out of the truck, Alice leading the way as she flips her straightened hair to the side. She knocks twice before helping herself inside with me not far behind her.
"Ace is in the hoooouse!" Tony yells as he swings his arms over Alice's shoulders. She throws her head back and laughs.
I shift my weight from one foot to the other as I stand by the door, overwhelmed by the smell of alcohol and loud music. Tony looks at me and smiles. "Who's this?" He asks with a flirty tone. Alice rolls her eyes.
"She's taken, so piss off." Tony snaps his fingers.
"Ah man, well if your boyfriend," I feel my cheeks burn up, "ever mistreats you, come talk to me and I'll teach him a lesson."
I can't help but to giggle. Tony walks into living room and Alice drags me into the kitchen. "No drinking ," I remind her and she groans.
"It's already 7:40, you should text him." Alice says as she gives me an unopened can of Mountain Dew from the fridge.
I shrug my shoulders. "I don't even know what to say." She sighs.
"Here, let me see it." I raise my eyebrow. "Don't worry, I'm not going to say anything bad."
I hand her my phone and she gives it back within ten seconds. Without asking her what she did, I go straight to my text messages to see that she sent him a picture I took before we left her place.
Me- You still up for tonight? I glance up when I hear her name being shouted from the living room. "I'll be right back," she mutters before leaving.
"Only one shot!" I hear Alice about over the music and I take a deep breath. I thought we agreed on no drinking?!
Ding! I glance down at my phone and my heart drops.
Tom- You look amazing.
Tom- I'm really sorry but I won't be able to make it, maybe next time?
Me- Thanks. Yeah, maybe next time ig.I slide my phone into my pocket and march over to Alice, who chugging a can of Budweiser.
"We're leaving," I say as I grab her arm and lead her to the door.
"I don't want to!" She wines as she giggles. I groan, is she seriously drunk? I shake my head.
"You're drunk, what we agreed not to happen. We're leaving," I repeat once more and we, meaning Alice, stumble out to the truck.
"I don't," She hiccups, "want to go home." She giggles again as I slide into the driver seat and start up the engine.
By the time I pull onto the next street, Alice, who was a giggling mess, goes quiet. "Why didn't Thomas show up?" She asks sounding completely sober.
"Alice, you're drunk, so just-"
"I'm not drunk. Hell, I'm not even tipsy." She interrupts as she slouches into the seat. "Never was. What you saw back there was just a show." She turns towards me.
"Now, why wasnt Thomas there?" She asks more seriously. I sigh and shake my head.
"He couldn't make it," I say no louder than a whisper.
