The Hybrid

Chapter 8

Damon's P.O.V

I just staked Vic a couple of hours ago and know I'm in the middle of no where digging a grave for her body. I was almost done when I heard a twig snap. Crap there's someone in the woods. I dropped the shovel and listened for anymore noise or footsteps. Nothing. Was all I heard. I finished Vic's grave and went to pick up her body when I heard a voice.

Vic's P.O.V

I woke up on the ground with the stake still in me. I looked over to see Damon digging a grave. Probably my grave. I sit up as quietly as possible and vamp speed behind a tree. I planned on stabbing him the back, but when I went to walk out from behind the tree I stepped on a twig. Damn it. Damon stopped and listened when he was satisfied that there was nothing around he continued digging.
When he was do that's when I spoke up. I said," so Damon did you plan on pulling the stake out and leaving flowers. Don't I at least deserve that much". He froze and turned around slowly.

He looked at me with fear in his eyes. The fear only grew when he looked me up and down seeing the stake in my hand. "How". Was all he said. " well you see being a hybrid comes with it's perks. Like not be able to die by a stake". I stepped forward looking at the ground. I whispered," why"? "why what"? "You killed me. I want to know why you would throw way what we had"! " I'm sorry Vic -" " it's Victoria to you, you ass. Only my friends call me Vic". "I'm sorry. I couldn't let you find Katherine. Not before I did". " Oh my God. You still love her. Even after she said she didn't want you". " how did you know she said that". " because I knew you found her. I knew she didn't want you. So I came back to check up on you. But when I got here she already broke you". "You knew"?! "Yes. I knew. I know everything"." So what know are you gonna kill me"? " I thought about it but then I remember I don't care. You killed me so what I can't truly die. So it's your lucky day. You get to live and it's my lucky day I get to go to New York. Goodbye Damon. See you around. Oh and Damon forget about Katherine you get a much better future ahead of you without her". " how do I know you're not lying". " Remember Damon I know and see everything. Just another perks of being a hybrid". With that I left.
