An army of dwarves, that was led by Thorin's cousin, Dain Ironfoot arrived over the hill. Thranduil ordered for the army to face the dwarf army instead. Dain came down on his pig and looked out over the army.

"Good morning! How are we all? I have a wee proposition, if you wouldn't mind giving me a few moments of your time. Would you consider..." the voice sounded Irish or Scottish, either way it made the dwarf sound somewhat more intimidating. Arcturus almost backed down.
"Sodding off?" Dain's voice was raised to a shout of anger. The Laketown army starts pulling back in fear.

"All of you! Right now!" The dwarf continued, the fury in his voice rising, creating an intimidating atmosphere around him.

"Stand fast!" Bard yelled over the chaos.

"Come now, Lord Dain." Gandalf started, stepping forward to look up at the dwarf lord, who still stayed on the hill from whence he came.

"Gandalf the Grey. Tell this rabble to leave, or I'll water the ground with their blood." Arcturus looked anxiously at the king, he then saw his mother and pure fear struck him. He can't lose his mother too. This was the worst idea they've ever had.

"There is no need for war between Dwarves, Men and Elves. A legion of Orcs march on the Mountain. Stand your army down." Gandalf tried to reason. He wanted nothing more than to stop all of this, before something bad happened and Arcturus didn't blame him.

"I will not stand down before any elf. Not least this faithless woodland sprite. He wishes nothing but ill upon my people. If he chooses to stand between me and my kin, I'll split his pretty head open! See if he's still smirking then." The lord gestured to Thranduil who was still in fact smirking. Arcturus was taken aback by this dwarf's use of words. Does he really think Thranduil is pretty?

"He's clearly mad, like his cousin." Arcturus looked at Thranduil, a silent request to shut up so they can live.

"You hear that, lads? We're on! Let's give these bastards a good hammering!" Dain yelled out, he got his army ready for attack when suddenly they all heard a noise.

"Were-worms." Gandalf said, Arcturus wanted to run, he wanted to go find the prince and just hug him. But he had a duty, a duty to his king, to his kin, to his kingdom. He had to fight.

Suddenly, a massive worm-like creature burst through the hard rock of one of the mountains before being joined by more were-worms. Orcs came running out of the tunnels soon after.

The dwarves redirected their battle towards the orcs, the elves however stayed put.

"The Elves, will they not fight?" Bilbo asked, Gandalf turned towards them, a desperate look upon his old face.

"Thranduil! This is madness!"

The orcs drew nearer and nearer by the second as the dwarves made a small wall of shields, suddenly, the elves leapt over the dwarves and assisted in battle.

"Uh, Gandalf, is this a good place to stand?" Bilbo asked anxiously, Arcturus leant over and picked up the hobbit, placing him on his horse in front of him.

It was pure chaos. The orcs killed everyone in sight, the elves and dwarves fought back as best they could, most of them losing their lives. Arcturus followed Thranduil, he had placed Bilbo back down and left him with Gandalf while they ran back to Dale.

Bard went in search for his children while Arcturus stuck to Thranduil's side. He killed every orc that he came across. The orcs seem to overrun them, Arcturus jumped off his horse, landing on top of two orcs and slicing their heads off before turning to the other orcs that surrounded him.
