CEO IN DISGUISE

KABANATA 1

I was busy surfing on the internet when Uncle Luke entered my room. As usual my dala na naman itong iba't ibang paper bags na naglalaman ng mga mamahaling damit na binili ni lolo para sa akin.

"Hija, your lolo asked me to deliver this to you. Sabi kasi niya meron kang pupuntahang event mamaya,'' sabi ni Uncle Luke habang inaayos ang mga dala nito sa harapan ko. I almost forgot na birthday pala ng isang kaibigan ko mamaya.

"Yes Uncle. Mamayang gabi yung birthday party ni Alexid, I almost forgot, mabuti nalang you mentioned it. By the way Uncle, Lolo is still in the office?'' tanong ko kasi lunch na hindi padin ito nakauwi.

"Oo hija, meron kasing bagong investor sa kumpaniya. Gusto nga sana ng lolo mo na umuwi na para sabay kayong kumain pero hindi niya maiwan-iwan yung kumpaniya.''

Napabuntong hininga nalang ako sa sinabi ni Uncle. Lolo has been working for the company alone since the day my dad died. Dad was supposed to be the heir of the company but due to an accident, my dad passed away my mom as well. They were both going home from the company when the accident happened. Dad was dead on arrival and mom was in critical condition. We thought mom could survive but she died after weeks in the hospital. I was eight years old back then when that accident happened. Ever since then, Lolo has been working hours just to make the company grow. The main reason why I wanted to take over the company. Lolo is getting older as well and I know hindi na niya kaya pang magtrabaho ng matagal. But before taking over the company, gusto ko munang ma experience magtrabaho sa ibang company. I want to start from the bottom before accepting the highest position in our company. But I'm not planning on working on Vandeliegh, instead I have applied to other well-known companies here in the country. 

"By the way hija, I heard from your lolo that your finding a job? Bakit? Don't you want to take over the company?'' 

"Yes Uncle Luke, I'm finding a job. I will take over the company but I want to start from the bottom. I'm finding job from other companies to gain experience, as well as to learn more about the business industry since naniniwala akong working with other companies will gave me sufficient knowledge on how to handle ours,'' simpleng sagot ko.

"Hindi ka ba mahihirapan hija? I can teach you if you want to discover more about the industry.''

"No Uncle, and okay lang naman if mahirapan ako in that way, mas lalo kung malaman kung ano yung mga ginagawa ng mga empleyado natin. And don't worry Uncle. I know I can do it!'' nakangiting sabi ko. Uncle Luke just heaved a deep sigh. 

"If that's what you want, just take good care of yourself Allyson. If you need help don't hesitate to call me. I'll go now, I know your Lolo is waiting for me. I'll ask Donato to drive you to the event.''

"Thank you so much Uncle.''

Uncle Luke left already so I  decided to unpacked all the things in front of me. Isang damit lang naman ang kailangan ko pero mukhang binili ata lahat ni Uncle yung mga damit ng store. Uncle Luke is Lolo's secretary. He's working for Lolo for almost 25 years already, and Uncle Luke is the one who help lolo in taking care of me kaya subrang lapit ng loob ko sa kaniya. Kulang nalang nga na nakabantay siya 24/7 sa akin. That's why I considered myself lucky despite not having my parents around I feel all the love I needed since I have Lolo and Uncle Luke with me. The main reason why Uncle Luke was not able to have his own family since he is always with us.

Napangiti nalang ako ng may napili na akong susuotin sa party mamaya. I decided to wear the Chain-mail dress of Chanel and partnered it with my Dior stilettos. Since Alexid want us to wear something sexy tonight. Madaming biniling dress si Lolo from luxurious brands but I decided to wear this instead. Alexid came from a well-known family hence many guest from well-known families will surely be present tonight. I'm not expecting the oldies to come since only us adults are invited.
