Brat—

There was this inkling in the back of her head that her behavior was—

--off-putting.

Yet, knowing didn't prevent her from doing, the actions coming unbidden at some of the worst moments, that inkling she would drive everyone away just like she did her dad eating away at her.

She was the reason—

It scared her, not being in control which brought even more lack of control, yet seeing—

"My dad left," or something like that came out of her mouth, simply because someone listened, heard her say something about her younger brother earlier, and turned it around to tell her that they were listening now.

Yet—

Everyone else's dad was there, while her dad—he was absent, irresponsible, like Mrs. Barrett.

Why was he different from what she knew?

--Brat

The pieces simply wouldn't come together, her mind still struggling to understand the why.

Like a fire that wouldn't go away.
