Boy Wonder

The Rookie

I woke up around 9 before fixing some cereal and scrolling through my phone. I remembered how the other night was the NBA drafts and any new players for Miami Heat would be starting practice today. I quickly answered some text and emails before texting Bam and letting him know I would show up today at their practice.

I put my bowl in the sink before going to get ready. I threw on my nike pros and an old t shirt before putting on my nike socks and my gym shoes. I brushed my hair before throwing it up in a ponytail then grabbing my wallet, keys and phone before walking out the door locking it on my way.

*skip drive there*

Once I got to their gym I walked through the back door and headed for the gym. The boys had music playing as usually. I walked in to see everyone prettymuch doing their own thing. I saw Bam talking to who I immediately recognized as the rookie. Not gonna lie he was fine as hell.

"Yo look who's here" Jimmy yelled pointing my way before jogging over to me and dabbing me up

"Hey guys" I said loud enough for them all to hear which I got reply's back from them all

"Whatcha doing here" Jimmy asked

"Thought I would come by and meet the rookie" I said laughing a bit

"Well your just in time then" Bam said walking over to us with the rookie behind him

"Kiara this is Tyler" Bam said pointing behind him

"Nice to meet you" I said smiling while holding my hand out to him

"Same to you" Tyler said shaking my hand while smirking a bit

"Wanna come shoot around" Bam asked

"Yeah let's go" I said putting my stuff down and starting to mess around with the guys

After about 3 hours we all decided we had enough. I learned a lot about Tyler so far but I was interested to know more.

"You wanna go get something to eat" Tyler asked me once everyone started to leave

"Sure" I said once we got to our cars

"Alright follow me there" he said smiling at me

"Okay" I said smiling before getting in my car and pulling out behind him

We ended up at this little small diner which I had been to a couple times before.

"So tell me more about yourself boy wonder" I asked once we sat down

"Well I'm 19 and I'm from Wisconsin. I played for Kentucky Wildcats for a year before getting drafted. I have 2 younger brothers, Austin and Myles. And I mean I think there is all to say, what about you?" he said smiling a bit

"I mean I feel like people already know everything about me. But I'm 19 and I have 5 sisters and 1 brother which I'm the youngest of them all. I enjoy basketball as I used to play in high school. I love animals and making people laugh. And I don't think there is really anything else" I said smiling as well before our food came

We had some small talk after that before leaving the restaurant and going our separate ways.

"It was nice getting to know you Kiara" Tyler said as he walked me to my car

"You as well Boy Wonder" I said laughing a bit which he did as well

"Do you mind if I get your number" Tyler said once I unlocked my car

"Not at all" I said as I sat everything in my car then handing him my phone

"Here you go" he said handing my phone back to me

"Thank you have a good night Ty" I said giving him a hug before we went out separate ways. Once I got in the car I FaceTimed Kylie getting ready to tell her everything.
