Chapter 5

Ennoshita's POV

"Coach can we take the bus and go to the hospital to see ennoshita?" i heard daichi asked

"Sure. guys head to the bus now!" Coach ukai yelled

3 minutes later, the ambulance came, tanaka carried me to the stretcher and placed me down gently. i was still in tears from the pain and tanaka stayed in the ambulance with me while holding my hand.

i kept crying because im in pain, scared and guilty

5 minutes later, we reached the hospital and they carried me on the stretcher. by then, i stop crying and was sniffling and i fell asleep from exhausion

Tanaka's POV

when i was carrying the stretcher with the paramedics, i looked at chikara and he was asleep.

[awww hes so cute] i smiled sweetly at him and we reached the emergency room.

"we can take him from here, thanks for your help" the paramedic thanked

"no problem, please take care of him."

the paramedic nodded at me.

i sat outside of the emergency room and waited.

[why didnt i notice that he was injured? why did he hide it from us? when has this lasted? will he be alright?] i was in a whirl of thoughts

"Hey tanaka! tanaka? you there? from earth to tanaka!" suga flicked my forehead

"h-huh?" i looked up in confusion and saw suga and the team worriedly looking at me

"sorry i zoned off"

"its alright, we are worried too..."

i started sobbing "wh-why didnt i notice that he was in pain? why?" i started questioning myself out loud

"bro, its not your fault. i think chikara will be fine. hes strong!" nishinoya encouraged and patted my back

"thanks bro..." i wiped my tears away and the team and i waited silently and patiently for ennoshita to come out.

Ennoshita's POV

my eyes fluttered open and i was in a unfamiliar place. i looked around my surroundings in confusion and i saw my team and my parents staring at me with worried eyes

"Someone call the nurse! ennoshita is awake!" i heard tanaka yell

i started sobbing again

"im sorry... im so so sorry" i apologised

"hey why are you crying? theres no need to cry chikara." my mother cupped my cheek and assured me gently.

i still continued sobbing

"im sorry for causing all of you trouble for bring me here and coming all the way here to see me." i sobbed uncontrollably

suddenly, i saw some nurses and doctor walking into the room.

"are you ennoshita chikara?" the doctor questioned

i nodded weakly as a reply

"you have a grade 3 sprain on your foot, which means your ligament was torn in half. may i ask you some questions?"

i nodded again as a reply.

"when did this start?"

"it started 2 weeks ago when i fell down the stairs at home"

"Okay, so have you done any strenuous activities like sports?"

"yes, i have been to volleyball practice"

"Okay, last question. why didnt you visit the doctor earlier?"

"b-because i didnt want to trouble anyone for taking care of me and i didnt want to worry anyone..." tears started flowing down my cheek

"im sorry that i keep crying. i feel uncomfortable when i talk about my feelings..." I looked down

"ah, its okay. just let it all out."

i sobbed even harder.

the team and my parents eyes widened when they heard what i said.

"mr ennoshita, i advice you to take some rest and dont do any sports. i left your crutches beside your bed. get well soon"

i thanked the doctor and he left the room.
