AMORA'S REVENGE.

(this is barely proof-read, i apologise in advance. i will come back and proof-read it later!)

10th October 1997

"Ginny, Neville, and Luna got caught by Snape."

Amora's eyes bulged, her head snapping upwards in the direction of Kathy who stood in the doorway of their dormitory. Her blonde curls were a miss, a thin layer of sweat covering her skin as she moved closer, shutting the door straight behind her. Amora pushed the books off of her legs, ditching the essay she had been attempting to write.

"What?" Amora said in disbelief. "How -"

A couple of days ago, Ginny found out that the Sword of Gryffindor, which had apparently been left by Dumbledore for Harry in his will, was being kept in Snape's office. Ginny was outraged considering it didn't belong to him, especially after what Snape had done to Dumbledore and Harry, and she'd made a plan to steal it back and give it to Harry when they eventually saw him. They asked Amora if she wanted a part in it, but she declined.

Amora wanted to help as much as she could, and she was sick of playing things safely all of the time, but this didn't seem worth the risk. Harry hadn't been a good friend to her in the end, and she didn't want to risk everything by trying to steal something for him.

"Snape walked in on them when they were in the office," Kathy said, "Seamus just told me that they've been given detention with Hagrid."

Amora jumped. "Wha - What?" She spluttered. "That's it? Snape caught them trying to steal something from his office, and that's all? They're not getting tortured or expelled or -"

"I know, it makes no sense," Kathy agreed, "But we should just be thankful, I guess. I never thought I would say this, but obviously Snape isn't the strictest teacher at Hogwarts anymore."

Amora struggled to wrap her head around the fact that Ginny, Luna, and Neville had practically gotten away with it. Especially when Snape had said he was so keen to crack down on whoever had graffitied DA slogans around the school a month ago. He must know that those three would have something to do with it - they were close to Harry and part of the DA in the fifth year.

"I never thought I would see the day that Snape decided to let students basically get away with something. Especially two Gryffindors and a Ravenclaw," Hannah mentioned from where she sat in her bed with Susan, the two of them either painting their nails or plaiting their hair for bed.

Amora furrowed her brows in thought. "I want to talk to him."

"What about?" Kathy exclaimed as she yanked off her jumper, replacing it with a pyjama top instead and pulling her bra off discreetly underneath.

"My mother," Amora said, her voice no longer wavering like it used to whenever she mentioned her. "I feel like he knows something. The Carrows too. All the Death Eaters, I don't know. But maybe he's my best shot at finding out where she is. He was friends with her. He might - Maybe he does have some sort of sympathetic bone in his body or - or -"

"There is no point, Amora," Susan groaned, rolling her eyes. "He won't tell you anything."

"But how could I live with myself if I didn't at least try?" Amora argued back. "Clearly miracles are happening around Hogwarts if those three are getting let off with a smack on the wrist."

Susan huffed loudly. "Amora, I'm just going to say it because nobody else will, and everybody's been treading on eggshells around you, but you need to just move on. Your mother was taken back in July. That's, what? How many weeks is that, Hannah?"
