Here In Gloomsville the skies are always gray.

The sun is dull like metal and the grass would never sway.

The mornings were dark, and the nights were just the same,

The air is cold like ice, and it really is such a shame.

Gloomsville isn't very populated, it can't be seen on a map.

I don't have many neighbors, between here and there is a big gap.

Most days in Gloomsville are as gloomy as it can get.

I wake up, do nothing, I never break a sweat.

One day in Gloomsville something strange occurred.

I woke up in the early morning and went outside to see a bird.

A bright blue bird, as bright as can be.

And it gave me a weird feeling to watch, what was it? Glee?

Yes, glee I say! Something I've never felt before.

I must've watched that bird for hours, never leaving my position by the door.

Maybe Gloomsville isn't so bad after all, maybe some light has been gained.

At least that's what I thought before the bird left, and only the gloominess then remained.
