"You have your team, Hyejin-ssi," IU said.
I nodded and looked around. I was standing in the middle of the common area of IPG headquarters in Guryong, introducing myself and briefing the IPG members about my mission with them: Finding and apprehending Park Manse.
This was my first visit to their headquarters. I was picked up by Yeri and the girls from my office and they drove me here. I still remembered the thrill I felt when the two large containers suddenly split open as Yeri's car approached it, revealing the secret driveway into the Headquarters. It almost felt like entering a theme park, really. When I entered the headquarters itself, my mouth gaped in awe when I saw just how futuristic and cool everything inside it was. Joy told me that the building used to be a warehouse, slowly converted into a modern office for the IPG.
Suzy had told me earlier today that all IPG members were present today for their Year End Meeting. When I eventually met them, I was shocked to find that they were all super famous idols, either from the Second or Third generations. As I stood there briefing them, Suzy, the head of IPG, was sitting elegantly to my right, with her right-hand woman Sana of Twice standing next to IU and I at the center of the room. A few steps behind the sofas and chairs where the members were sitting, stood Han MInsoo—Twice's manager—and Yeoni.
From what I learned these past few days, the IPG was divided into three major divisions. KARA's Seungyeon led the Care Team, in charge of taking care of the idols under the IPG's protection, both physically and mentally. Yeri was a member, along with Nayeon of Twice, Sunny and Seohyun of SNSD, and Blackpink's Jisoo.
Taeyeon led the Strike Force, with Seulgi, Joy, SNSD's Sooyoung, and Jennie as her members. These were the girls who had some training in martial arts, and they were in charge of engaging in physical confrontations, should it become inevitable, like it did a few days ago at SM Entertainment building.
The division I would most likely work together the most with going forward–and the coolest division in my opinion–was the Intelligence Division, led by IU herself. These were the spies and hackers, blessed–or cursed–with so much intel and information from within the K-pop industry. Honestly, as someone from the government's intelligence community, I was a little envious of how well-funded and resourceful they were. Wendy, Rosé, and Sandara were members, along with new joiners Blackpink's Lisa and Twice's Jihyo.
IU had just assembled a team for me to investigate Park Manse and his one associate who helped him escape custody a few days ago. We knew Manse was an executive in YG before resigning last year, and before that he worked at SM and JYPE, so we decided to start our investigation to learn more about him from within these three companies. Luckily, everyone present was senior idols from those companies.
"Alright. I will be starting right away with SM, together with Seulgi, Yeri, Joy, and Wendy. The rest of you, please get back to me when you find anything, okay?" I said. Everyone nodded.
I bowed down again respectfully, before looking at the Red Velvet girls. They smiled and stood up, joining me at the center of the room while looking at their respective Leaders.
"Happy New Year, everyone!" I said, saying my goodbyes.
The IPG members replied kindly and let us go. I walked out silently and confidently, leaving the common area where the IPG members were still discussing a few other things, and I heard several footsteps following me. Somehow, I kept walking all the way until I reached the lobby of the warehouse, way beyond the earshot of the other members, before turning and sighing. Yeri, Seulgi, Joy, and Wendy had followed me.
