They're faces were being painted red, sweating uncontrollably as they're bodies were growing sore.
They're clothing were worn out, and unfortunately it's the only pair the both of them have.
"Damn it, why the fuck are there more of them than usual" Y/n cursed as they took down yet another monster coming after them.
"I have no clue, behind!" Ajax grunted as he blocked an upcoming attack. Fighting back to back they often switched gears keeping an eye on one another.
It's been about 2 weeks and Ajax would say hes almost on par with Y/n. Both of them use blades giving by-
"And once again Skirk is no where to be seen- ugh- always shows up when she wants to" Keeping a conversation while trying not to die was quite the struggle for the two.
Whenever they think their done more just appear, at this point they're going to run out of stamina.
Breathing heavily Y/n decides to change courses of plan. "Alright Ajax, change of plans, we're going to retreat and run as fast as possible back home".
"What!! No way!! Think about it they'll just follow us and we wont have much of a camp to stay at"
"That's why your training, no? Use them strong legs of yours and run idiot" The two yelled back at each while still keeping an eye on the fight ahead.
"Oh? My legs huh?" Ajax smirked.
"Ha! Dont get all high and mighty pretty boy, now run!" Without so much of a heads up Y/n began running towards their camp.
"HEY, are you trying to leave me for dead here!" Ajax complained but it didnt take long for him to catch up.
"Oh please, with those long ass legs I knew you would catch up"
"STILL give a warning next time" He nudged them and they couldn't help but let out of laugh.
"Woah woah hold it Y/n" Ajax abruptly stopped them putting his hand in front of them.
"What!! We're almost there!!"
"Something feels off, look"
Both of them turned to look from where they were orginally running from to see the monsters they were fighting, were no longer chasing them.
The air felt heavy.
Out of nowhere they felt loud vibrations shaking them, and it didnt take long for them to find the source of it all as it lunged at Y/n, hitting them directly on their gut, almost sending them flying.
"Y/N!" Ajax didnt have time to rush to their aid as he had to protect himself from the intruders next attack.
Y/n held their stomach as they coughed up clots of blood, "well shit-" they laughed.
