THE PAST NEVER stays buried. If it was that easy to leave it behind, people wouldn't have such trouble letting go. 

Lucy convinced herself that she had come to terms with her unfulfilling past, but as she approached the front door to her and Thomas' old Brooklyn apartment, she came to the chilling realization that her heart hadn't moved on just yet.

Unlocking the door turned out to be a difficult task with how badly her hands were shaking. Each failed attempt to sink the key into the doorknob was followed by a frustrated huff. Bucky, who stood behind her, gently took the key from her hands and easily unlocked the door for her.
