Chapter 1: The Forest

Jade is back! Physically well and mentally...okay? Cartoon cat messed her up pretty badly, but ever since he was killed, she hasn't been so worrisome. She has nightmares sometimes though, and she always checks behind herself whenever she's alone.

But at the moment, she was walking through the forest, a hand in her pocket. She hummed softly to herself, listening to the rustling of the leaves while she felt the cold wind against her face. It was a chilly October day, the brown, orange and yellow leaves on the ground crunching beneath her boots.

She loved October, Halloween being one of her favorite holidays. Fall was also her favorite season. She planned to dress really scary on Halloween, something she hasn't done in a long time. She usually just dresses up as a princess or a devil on Halloween, but this Halloween, she wanted to step out of her comfort zone. She was thinking about what she would do; scary makeup, a scary costume, both, etc., when she heard footsteps. She whirled around, looking in every direction warily. "Who's there?!" She demanded, getting ready to run.
