Third Person's Point of View
Olivia woke up with the sun. She looked over to her side and saw Gally fast asleep still.
She got out of bed, careful not to wake him up, and got changed. She gently opened and shut the door, then went to the comfort and safety of the treehouse. She just needed a place to think, but the vomit stench in her hut, courtesy of Gally, prevented her from doing that.
She was glad to be by herself in the treehouse that very few people knew about. It was calming. No boys, no noise, and no danger.
Little did she know, someone was nearby, watching her. Dylan.
It was only when he had accidentally stepped on a twig that Liv noticed she wasn't alone. She peeked her head over the railings and spotted the boy.
"Shit!" she mutters under her breath, still absolutely petrified of him.
"Olivia!" he calls. "I need to talk to you!"
"I can't at the moment! I'm, uh, busy!"
"Doing what?"
"It's a secret!"
"I-"
"Sorry, gotta go, bye, Dylan!" She scrambles down the ladder and runs towards the Kitchens. "Hey, Fry!" she greets, acting as if she hadn't just ran across nearly the entire Glade.
"You look like you ran a mile"
"Oh, shut up. Anyway, I'm here to help you"
"So you're finally ready to do your shucking job?"
"Yup" she says, popping the 'p'.
The pair started preparing breakfast, laughing and joking as if they hadn't just spent a large amount of time apart.
Much sooner than she expected, the Gladers started queuing up for their breakfast. She served everyone, but couldn't spot Gally anywhere.
Olivia goes back to her hut, and see he's still asleep. She sits down next to him and strokes his hair, pressing the occasional soft kiss to his forehead.
He eventually stirs, and smiles when he sees his girlfriend next to him, embracing him. He wished that he could wake up like this every day for the rest of his life.
The morning sunshine seeped through the windows, basking the room in a golden glow. The light made Olivia's face appear almost heavenly, as if she was an angel, sent down by God to protect him, to be his guardian. And that's exactly what she's done. She's protected him from others, and also protected him from himself.
"I love you" he smiles, ignoring his immense hangover, just wanting to savour this moment forever. If he had a camera right now, he would take a photo so he could always look back at this point in time whenever he needed to and remember how happy he was capable of feeling.
"I love you too. Forever and always"
Each time they told each other 'forever and always', it was like a promise, promising the other that no matter what life throws at them, no matter what might happen, who they might meet and lose along the way, their heart would belong to the other. Nobody else. They would always be each others. He would be hers, and she would be his. Nothing could change that.
"Is breakfast nearly ready?" Gally eventually asks.
"Oh. Right. Yeah. That's what I came in for. Come on" She stands up and links their hands, then walks over to the Kitchens. The couple eat in a comfortable silence, just glad that everything was perfect between them right now. Besides the problem of the Greenie, of course.
