Levi raced against the rain on his way up, internally cursing at the rain that weighed him down.

Doubt overtook his body as it shook from all of the different emotions mixing inside of his heart. He knew you were in a critical state, he knew, but he needed you to live.

"Cadet Arlert," Levi roared, landing so strongly on the branch that his beloved was laying on that a tingle shot up from his feet through his spine. "Is she okay?"

Levi hastily took steps towards where Armin was scowling down at you, who was wrapped in a soaked, green cloak, presumably Armin's.

Blood still seeped out of your wound, coating the once-green cloak in crimson.

Levi, feeling the panic coursing through him, fell to his knees beside his love as he took you in his arms, hugging you close.

He smiled slightly when he heard the faint breathing come from you, your warm breath hitting his cold earlobe.

"Let's head back."

The familiar bell rang throughout the city as every soldier that have enlisted in the Military returned. Erwin stood perched upon the wall, directly over the gate.

"Civilians within the walls!" Erwin yelled, extending his arms out from his sides. Every woman, man, and child gazed up at the Commander as he smiled. "Humanity has won! The titans have perished, and we no longer need to confine within this cage!"

The walls opened and in trotted thousands of both living and dead soldiers.

A certain dark-haired man sat in the cart with a special someone, clutching the hand tightly in his. Levi gingerly kissed your hand as he looked over at the people that have now been freed.

And it was all thanks to you and the Military Regiments.

Levi had taken it upon himself to check you in a hospital, where he had delivered the news to all doctors and nurses who had also been freed from everything.

They all cheered and had taken you into their arms, and they had told Levi everything was free for him and you, and to take it as a token of their gratitude.

But their smiles fell once they took one look at your state.

It had now been twenty-four hours since you had escaped from the walls and found the titans' nest. He truly wondered what had gone through your head to make you do something that reckless.

The consequences of the battle had finally caught up with Levi's body, and he gingerly took your hand in his as he rested his pounding head on the foot of your bed, not minding the nurse that came in to check up on both of you.

"What do you think is outside the walls?" you asked Levi, his shirt clenched tightly in your hands while he soared through the sky.

He hummed, shrugging.
