end of 2020 | a passage

198 24 17

I've reached the end of this year
and when I look back,
I see all the the streets that
go unnoticed
but I had happened to take them,
and wonder how the things
we usually wouldn't choose
are the ones that end up right.
I had totally ignored the roads
with signs.
I know my story would've been
different then.
The year has taught me lots.

One: I have the choices right
in my fingertips.

Two: I have to pay heed;
listen closely to a bold voice in
the back of my head, telling me
that I'm doing a good job.
And that I don't have to worry
about who has stayed.
And who has left.

Three: I don't have a third.
I always run out of a third one.

It has always been either this road
or the other.
You got to make a quick decision.

Maybe my third is what
I have never done before.
The one I'd do next:

Take the road that's deserted.
That's never taken.

: thank you.
