This is where the setup for what this part of the story is about. However, I have already laid it out in the story's description. In case you missed it, here it is again:

Ryan, a teenage inventor and kart racer in the Mushroom Kingdom, was just trying to save up enough money to take himself to Isle Delfino for a vacation. What he doesn't realize is that his next win would be just the thing to skyrocket his popularity, and even get to hang out with Mario, Luigi, Princess Peach and all the famous people in the kingdom, things that he could only dream about. However, for some reason, a gang has attempted to capture Ryan after his big win. What secrets could Ryan be hiding? What could happen if those secrets are revealed? And when a strange squid-human hybrid enters the picture, just what will come from that? Only time will tell.
