The Sunday morning was almost peaceful. Well, maybe apart from two bickering people on both sides of me. This time it wasn't Kyo and Souta, but two brothers that tried to convince each other about their rights. And the issue was serious. Really serious. At least in their heads.
Suga was pinching his nose, sighing deeply with his eyes closed. "Souta, I won't let you stay here for a week. Go to parents' house if you don't want to go back to Tokyo yet."
"But please? Pretty please? With Mapo Tofu on top?" Souta pleaded, but Sugawara was uncompromising.
"No. I won't be here for most of the time because of work and other stuff and I can't trust you enough."
The younger male pouted, looking at me this time. He mouthed silent "please" and my heart swelled with pity. I looked at Kyo, but she was just munching on her toast, seemingly out of the conversation. She looked like she has seen some shit and now that little argument was nothing to her.
I turned to Sugawara, who was trying to eat his breakfast in peace. "Koushi, maybe give him just a couple of days to stay here and then he will go to your parents' house?" That was the only thing I could think of.
He glared at me, then on Souta. "Can you stop bribing my girlfriend with those puppy eyes?" He sighed again and suddenly my vision darkened when he covered my eyes protectively. "Don't look at him. He may look like a completely innocent person, but he is a devil."
"And I'm not even hiding this. But that can't be said about you, Koushi." He mumbled with his mouth full.
I giggled, taking his hand off of my face. "Don't worry, I'm not taking his side. I'm just saying that maybe it won't be that bad if he stayed here a little longer." My intensions were mostly pure.
But to be honest, I just really wanted to listen to the story about goats.
Sugawara groaned, looking away from my face. For the past twelve hours I saw him irritated more times that he was during the whole past week. Maybe that was what Souta was picking on. Sugawara seemed a little scary, but just when he was with his brother.
"Listen, if I see that you've made a mess or invited friends over, you will leave. And don't make Kyo do all the work while I'm not here, okay?" He finally agreed, to which Souta jumped happily in his chair.
He almost hugged his wife, but she moved away from his grasp. "Don't pull me into this mess. I don't mind sleeping in your parents' house." She looked at pouting Souta and chuckled darkly. "And just as your brother said, I'm not doing anything here. If you make a mess, you clean it up."
I smiled when she and Sugawara exchanged smirks. I could see now that they enjoyed bullying Souta together and that seemed somewhat funny to watch.
"Not fair! You should be on my side!" He whined, taking another bite of his toast. "At least Miyu is with me, right?" He looked at me with hope, but with a corner of my eye I saw Kyo's face. She shook her head feverishly, trying to convince me to act along.
"Well, technically speaking I'm with your brother. It's a no for me then." I almost felt bad when Souta slouched his arms in very much depressed manner.
"I have no one to count on." He whined, his head falling to the table. "I thought I finally got an ally. And you betrayed me so horribly."
All three of us tried not to giggle at his sad monologue. But Kyo was first to crack, when she almost choke on her food. "Okay, Eeyore. That was a great show. Now finish up and get ready. We will visit your mother today." She patted his back, but he seemed even more depressed now.
