The van would no longer start, that was for sure. The engine was smoking, completely busted, and the front windshield was basically gone

Great.

"Is everyone okay?"

"Is everyone?!"

Yas jumps out the van, slamming the door shut harshly

Sammy jumps out the vehicle, yelling for Yas as she does so. I don't know whether I should feel bad for Sammy or not...

"On a different note, can someone help me get this glass out of my face?"

Darius looks at me, moving a hand up to the glass as someone grabs my bag from me, digging through it in search for what I could only guess to be the medical kit

"Found it! ... What do I grab from it though?" Kenji asks no one in particular

"Rubbing alcohol, gauze or a plaster probably, it doesn't seem too deep so it doesn't need stitches... and these"

Ben grabs small tweezers from the kit, handing them to Darius as he carefully pulls the shard out of my skin, a mutter of pain escaping my mouth as I try to hide how much it actually hurt, which worked somehow...

Ben takes over from there, I thank the other two as they jump out the van before sitting down and looking at Ben's worried expression

"Is there any more glass? Any other pains? Are you bleeding? How's your head? Is anything blurry? Is-"

Ben's mutters become unidentifiable as he continues to fumble, his voice wobbly and tears threatening to fall

"Ben..." he stops immediately, the use of his actual name instead of a nickname highlighting the fact that this was a serious conversation. We barely ever use our names with eachother...

"I'm okay, there's no more glass or bleeding. Are you okay?"

"I- Uh... No... It's just everything that's happened since we've got here... There's so much more to it but I just- I can't put it into words... Sorry"

"Don't apologise, its okay. It's been a hectic few days but good things happened too, like sure we're being hunted by some creepy dino but we have new friends and two dino children... for some reason"

Ben laughs, smiling through his still teary eyes

"You and me against the world like always.... just this time there's dinosaurs- back to my point, I won't let anything happen to you Ben. Trust me"

Bumpy paws at Ben's leg with small cat like meows, seeming to agree with whatever I'm saying

"Thanks Y/n, I needed that"

Smiling, I bring him into a hug, holding him close to me. Ignoring the fighting the others had started about Brooklynns phone until he pulls away

"We have to stay with the group... for survival"

We step out the van to see Brooklynn stomp upto Sammys face

"You knew about the idominous rex! Because you were snooping around Dr. Wu's office when I ran into you. I knew it!"

"I didn't mean to destroy the phone. I fell on it when the zipline came down and-"

"But you did steal it? You had it that whole time and didn't tell us?" Ben frowns, sitting down with Bumpy and Spike, who pawed at his lap seeming to beg for attention

"Hold up. What were you doing in Dr. Wu's office Brooklynn?"

"I-"

"Probably trying to impress her fans with secret information! You two are as bad as eachother. We're being hunted, we shouldn't be fighting over a petty phone!"
