Not so Lazy Hazy Days of Summer

Finn was still blissfully asleep when he was rudely awoken by his phone.

"What?" He asked whoever was ringing him before midday over the summer vacation. For once he was in his own room, in his own bed at home. Something he'd not done willingly since he'd been eighteen.

"What are you doing today?" A familiar voice asked him, sounding annoyed.

"Finding you and beating you, why?" Finn grunted, turning his head into his pillow.

"Wonderful I'll make it easy for you, I'm at your girlfriend's house. She's gone round the bend mate," Poppins said loudly.

Finn sighed but sat up. "What's happened?" He asked climbing out of bed and heading for his bathroom. This was his and Bambi's second night apart in months, it had taken him much too long to get to sleep that night and he knew she had been awake too as he'd been messaging her.

"She's been up since five with notebooks everywhere, planning literally everything for the next five years by the looks of it," Poppins said. "She's got a special notebook entitled Finn that she keeps picking up and putting down then adding it to her work notebook and then throwing them apart while muttering. You need to take her to do something or I'm going to murder her while laughing manically. I've done all I can."

Finn smirked and shook his head before turning his shower on. "I'll be there in an hour. Don't forget you'll miss her too if she's gone," Finn said before hanging up.

Finn had a quick shower, Bambi enjoyed planning and organising, she was excellent at it, but she went too over the top sometimes. Like their wardrobe back home, she liked things separate and colour coded, he liked to just hang things up. Which he admittedly only did so she didn't yell that his clothes were everywhere. Though she was cute when she was angry, he preferred it when she was happy.

"Good morning darling, I wasn't expecting to see you for a few more hours yet," his mom greeted him, standing up to kiss his cheek and pour him a coffee. She treated him like he was still a kid instead of the almost twenty-five year old he was. And he was enjoying it.

"I got an early wake up from an angry British man," Finn grinned, sitting down to eat breakfast with her and have a cup of coffee. Poppins could cope for a little bit longer.

"Angry British man?" His mom asked with a chuckle and raised eyebrows.

"Poppins, Bambi's best friend, he's staying with her until the wedding and then they're flying out to England. Where she'll end up with another tattoo that her mom will go nuts about but secretly like," Finn chuckled, he knew what was going to happen, she knew it and Lorelai knew it.

"Oh, and why was Poppins calling you?" His mom asked, apparently taking the rest in her stride.

"Bambi's having a freak out," Finn explained. "It's normally finals that it happens, I knew this year she'd let us off too easily," he chuckled.

"Do you need to go to her?" His mum asked, looking concerned.

"I probably should, Poppins made it sound like she was freaking out about us and the future," Finn said with another chuckle. She had nothing to worry about, he wasn't letting her go as long as that's what she wanted.

"Well then, off you go. I've got the day at the office today, but perhaps tomorrow we could do something? Bambi's invited too of course," his mom said sincerely, a small smile across her face. He'd waited his entire life to see that smile.

"I'll ask her, but if she's busy we can do something for sure," Finn grinned. Finally his life was what it should have been. Finally it was all coming together.
