Lucas' PoV
My dad couldn't afford rent today, so we had to move for the third time. We've been hopping around so much because dad keeps losing his job. He won't tell me why, but I'm pretty sure it's because he's hungover half the week.
"What about the Sunshine Forest, we could build a house right next to Fuel's!" I pleaded.
"Lucas, that would cost us at least 60,000 DP," He mumbled back, half drunk.
"Well how much do we have?"
"That's none of your concern" He turned away from me.
"Dad. How much money do we have?" I worryingly said back
"1000" He practically whispered it, like he didn't want me to hear.
"1000!!!" I yell back in disbelief "can we afford rent? C-can we even afford food?"
Dad walked up to the fridge to grab another beer. Of course he bought some more beer because I don't need to eat at all. Nope, sticks and rocks are good for me.
"But don't worry! I looked long and hard." Dad uttered while his head was still in the fridge. "I found this place that offers reimbursement."
"Really! Where?" I'm really excited. Just when I thought my dad had blown another months rent on beer, he finally pulls through.
"Some place called Onett." He says cracking his beer open.
"Cool! Thanks dad!" I hug him goodnight and head to bed
I searched my head for everywhere I knew on the Nowhere islands, I don't remember anywhere called Onett before. Might be on the west side. I'll have to ask. "Hey dad? Where is Onett?" I ask. I pray that it's on the Nowhere islands.
"It's a town in some place called Eagleland. It's far away though, so we gotta take a boat first thing tomorrow morning." My heart drops. I've lived my entire life here, I don't wanna leave! Not yet at least. I lay down In my bed eyes wide open, staring at the wall. What the heck is Eagleland, it sounds terrible. I want to say something to dad, but at least he found us somewhere to live.
Boney jumps on my bed, licking my face "Woof woof woof," People find it weird when I talked to Boney, I dunno, I think it's pretty normal. Oh, yeah, and I can hear his thoughts. Cuz I'm a psychic and all. "Yeah, I dunno, boy. I hope this Onett place is good."
"Ruff ruff. (It'll be great, don't worry Lucas)"
"Yeah, I hope you're right,"
