I was at a baseball game today. This is a really important game today. It determines who'll be going to the city championships. I've been waiting for this day all year, so nothing can screw this up.
I walk up to the plate, determination in my eye. I hold the bat and get ready for the pitcher to throw, when I spot something. Someone in the stands...I feel like I know that kid from somewhere.
"Strike!" the umpire says. Huh, guess the pitcher threw the ball. I didn't notice
Come on Ness, you can't mess this up!
I get ready for the next throw, when I notice the kid in the stands again. This time he's smiling at me, which causes me to blush. God, what is it about this kid? Something about his smile makes me feel warm inside.
But I should really get back to focusing o-
"Strike!" the umpire yells again. Dammit! Okay, this time I have to hit it. If I miss, it's game over
I prepare myself for the third pitch, but then of course, I look back into the stands. The boy is closer, giving me a better look at him. He has a cute smile, and ice cream blonde hair. I'd love to put my hand in that hair
"Strike! Yer out!" The umpire yells. Gah! How did I mess that up!
The game is over and I'm sitting alone. The kid walks over to me, and sits down. Wait a minute, was this the kid I bumped into one time?
"H-Hey," he says. Oh wait, this kid's name is Lucas.
"Hey. Lucas, right?" I say, hoping I got his name right.
"Y-Yeah," he says, as he sits down next to me. Man, he has a cute face.
"Y-You pl-played well," he says. His stutter is kinda cute.
"Thanks...I was about to go for dinner, if you want to join me," I ask
"S-Sure," he says, blushing some more. I smile, and lead him off the court, to my favorite diner
