Author's Note: This is my "daughter," Zero Equinox aka the Blade of Paradox from my previous story, Princess of Redemption (Please read that story for context). She is my desire to change the world. Please keep her image in mind as you read this poem.

My eyes sting with tears
But the water will not flow.

My head spins with thoughts
And my body feels numb.

Is this what it means to be...?
Is this what it means to be...?
Is this what it means to be...?

There was a time I didn't believe
There was a time I could not conceive
The thought "you" would change things
And reshape the world the way I wanted it to be.

Is this what it means to be...?
Is this what it means to be...?
Is this what it means to be...?

I rolled the dice with no faith
I played the hand I had by mistake
And still I could not shake
The fear that everything would come to ruin and break.

But I tossed them away for just one day
And decided to play the game "your" way.
So I spun the wheel of fate and watched it turn
Like my stomach and heart that burns.

Is this what it means to be..?
Is this what it means to be..?
Is this what it means to be..?

Now I sit, clutching onto myself,
Wondering how I got this far.
There was a time where I believed I was fake
And my skills were never up to par.

But I didn't know my own strength
I didn't know what it meant to be..
Now, I am surrounded by red and black bliss.
And I feel more me...than I've ever been.

This is what it means to be...
This is what it means to be...
This is what it means to be...

Unapologetically ME!
