No one's p.o.v
"Whos going to the haunted house?"
He froze. He prayed no one would ask. He prayed it wouldnt come up in conversation. And yet it did.
"Deku?" You tapped his shoulder.
He flinched and turned to look at you.
"Do you wanna come to the haunted house with us?"
"I.." he thought about it,"sure. I'll come."
The group cheered and you smiled at him widely.
"It'll be fun! Apparently the scare actors are different this year so they might not target us this time." Kaminari laughed.
Deku hummed. He really hated the haunted house. Not because of the actors,or the jumpscares but because of the fact that every time the class went to it,everyone broke off into pairs. And you always wanted to be paired with him. He'd always liked you,but being alone with you was far more scarier than the haunted house itself.
What if something happened? What if he did something stupid that ruined what he had with you? Even just the thought made him get anxiety. But he knew saying no to the offer would be a criminal act. And if he didn't go with you,another lucky person would.
Unfortunately,the time came and the class gathered outside the haunted house. Actors walked by scaring some students. You and deku stood by the entrance door,he wasn't as eager as you but you assured him he'd be okay.
Little did you know the scares weren't what he was afraid of.
Mina paired everyone and you and deku were the first to enter the house. You were in front,telling deku about how if he got scared he could hold onto you. He only chuckled and followed you.
As you turned a corner,you were pushed back by one of the actors. Your back landed on dekus chest and he wrapped his arms around you. It was like an instinct. It happened so fast neither of you could comprehend it.
You laughed nervously,"sorry..I didn't expect that person to be there."
"I-Its fine." He cleared his throat.
The lighting hid his flushed face but his heart was racing so fast he thought he'd die then and there.
You were in his arms. It was only for a moment,a mere second. But that still meant the world to him.
You made your way through the house and eventually reached the end. As soon as you were out you apologised to deku again. He smiled and told you not to worry.
That smile..you could look at it all day. It was infectious and so bright.
You were caught off guard when you heard the rest of the class slowly making their way out of the house. You greeted them with deku and after some talking,everyone decided it was time to go trick or treating.
You walked along side mina and uraraka but you could feel dekus presence behind you. His aura alone made you nervous.
Time skip to when everyone's going back to the dorms~
You sighed and fell onto the couch in the common room.
"Tired?" Deku asked as he sat beside you.
"Very. I cant wait to get into bed."
He smiled,"did you have a good time today?"
"Yeah! It was fun! Especially the haunted house. Again,im very sorry for..falling into you."
"Its fine it was an accident."
"Yeah but-"
"Really Y/N,its okay."
You smiled and rested your head on his shoulder,"alright."
He had to tell you now. It was killing him. This moment was perfect.
"Y/N can I..tell you something?"
"Sure."
'Just do it..stop being a whimp..'
"I.." he sighed,"I'm really nervous to say this but I cant hold it in any longer. I like you. And not in a friendly kind of way."
Your smile widened,"you like like me?"
"Yes."
You looked up at him. His face was flushed red again and his heart was pounding so hard he was scared you could hear it.
"I like you too."
