The house down the street

At night I hear a sound .
It sounds like a cry
A cry of...
sadness ,loneness ,and heartbreak.
I thinks it's coming from the house down the street.
I asked my mom about it and she said no one lives there and that a wife and a husband lived there with there two kids .
She said one day the wife had to go to an emergency meeting and while she was gone her family got there throats slit and when the wife came back she saw what happened and killed herself .

But the confusing part was that ......the bodies were never found ......so how did my mom know that...
