The Lizardman & The Bug-Loving Princess (Luchino x Melly Fanfic)

Chapter 5

Luchino gets out of the carriage and sees many others walking into the castle. He was definitely nervous. Michiko gave him a quick rundown earlier about human customs, especially how to ballroom dance. Luchino walks inside and heads into the ballroom. Meanwhile, the King and Queen are sitting down on thrones watching their daughter dance with a suitor. They noticed how unhappy she looked. Melly gets done dancing and walks over to her parents.

"Mother, Father, can I just go to my room?" Melly asked.

"Sweetie, we have this ball going on so you can find a husband." Her mother said and Melly sighed.

"I see Fairy Godmother, Mary, and her son, William. Why don't you go dance with William?" Her father suggested. Melly sighs and walks over to William.

Meanwhile, Luchino definitely feels overwhelmed with the number of people in the ballroom. He sees the princess dancing with a very handsome man. He sees the princess wearing a beautiful green, ballroom dress, her hair in a braid with another braid in it, she's wearing her tiara and green heels. He sees both the princess and the handsome man smiling at each other. He failed to notice how fake Melly's smile is. He frowns and leaves the ballroom. Melly and William are dancing still.

"I would love to have tea with you tomorrow, Princess Melly. I'm definitely interested in marrying you." William said.

"I'm sorry, but I'm not interested." Melly said while glaring at him. She speed walks out of the ballroom and goes to the garden. When she gets to the garden, she sees a tall man with glasses sitting near the fountain. She walks over to him. The man, who is Luchino, looks up and sees Princess Melly in front of him.

"Your Highness, my apologies for being here. It was too crowded in the ballroom. I can leave if you want." Luchino said nervously. His cheeks had a slight blush. It was hard to see even with the moonlight outside.

"It's ok, I don't mind you being here." Melly said to him. She sits next to him. Luchino noticed she seemed sad.

"You seemed down." Luchino said to her.

"I just...I feel people only like me cause of my status and not interested in my interests or personality." Melly explained.

"What are your interests?" Luchino asked.

"Well, I love bugs. I've read about so many different bugs and studied them. My father and other men think I'm weird for having an interest in bugs. I also love baking, hiking, and staring at the stars at night. One of my favorite bugs, specifically butterflies, is the Menelaus blue morpho." Melly explained. She started talking about her favorite butterfly and facts about it. She mentioned she's never seen one since they're rare around these parts.

"I've read about them. They're very beautiful indeed." Luchino said. He indeed knows about bugs, one of the things he eats daily. The two are talking about different bugs.

"I never got your name." Melly said to Luchino.

"Luchino." Luchino said to her. Melly smiles at him. Luchino could feel his heart pound. He hoped she didn't hear. Melly gets up and grabs his hands. He stands up and she leads him a little away from the fountain.

"Let's dance." Melly said to Luchino. She puts her hands on his shoulders and he puts his hands behind Melly's back. The two slowly ballroom dance. The two look into each other's eyes. Melly's blue eyes looking into Luchino's orange eyes. Luchino is slightly blushing and nervous. He wasn't expecting to be this close to Princess Melly.

"You haven't told me much about you, besides your name and how you also like bugs." Melly said.

"Well...I live out of town...umm..sometimes I'll go into the woods nearby for a walk." Luchino said nervously.

"I would love to spend more time with you. If you're ok with that too." Melly said to Luchino. "I..would love that." Luchino said to Melly. Soon a clock noise was heard and Luchino looked at the nearby tower and saw it said 11:45pm.

"I must get going." Luchino said to Melly.

"Let's meet at sunset at Sundrop Lake in the woods tomorrow. " Melly said to him.

"I'm fine with that. Goodnight." Luchino said and then walked away. He quickly heads to the front and leaves in the carriage. As for Melly, she sighed happily. She could tell Luchino is different from the other men she talked to.

The carriage gets to the front of Luchino's home. Michiko is standing near the home. She sees the magic wears off and the things she changed with magic is back to how it was. Luchino is a lizard man again and Naib has his clothes on from before.

"Did you have fun?" Michiko asked Luchino.

"I did. I got to talk with her and we danced. Wait...there's a problem. " Luchino said.

"What is it?" Naib asked.

"She wants to meet with me tomorrow at the lake. I don't think I'm ready to show her...this part of me." Luchino explained.

"I had a feeling that might happen. I made this necklace. You can wear it to become human. However, its magic stops at every midnight." Michiko said and gives him a necklace that has a key attached to it.

Meanwhile, the King is in his office. Also in his office is Mary, the Official Fairy Godmother, and her son, William.

"Your daughter and my son will be together. My son wants to marry your daughter and he will get what he wants. Otherwise, I gave you your happily ever after, I can easily take it away." Mary said to the King.

"Of course, the two can have a lunch date tomorrow." The King said nervously.

"Good." Mary said.
