Why?

After eating while watching a tv show I went to the kitchen to put my plate in the sink

After that I went to take out the ice cream. As I was taking out the ice cream I felt a pain in my lower stomache part.

I picked up my shirt and as expected there was a bruise there.
Because of the addrenaile rush I didn't notice the pain.

I winced at the pain. I was already soar from all the practice.

I put the ice cream on the table and leaned over and closed my eyes.

My brows furrowed
I remembered those times in foster care where those people would hit us.

I started sweating a little so I quickly pulled myself up and took the ice cream went to my room switched on the ac and ate it while watching YouTube videos.

Jace POV

"So he apologized?" Kaiden asked

"Yes" I replied. He looked at me with disbelief.

I got it. No one was more shocked than I was. When Alex came to my room in the afternoon I was sure that he had come to start yet another fight, but he actually said sorry!

I didn't know he knew that word even existed.

"I can't believe it" Kaiden said shaking his head.

"Believe it. I think I know why he apologized to you" Vaughn said as he walked back into the room. He had gone to the kitchen to get some water

"What do you mean" I asked

"Remember when your dad gave you that scar?" He asked and I nodded scowling at the memory

"Remember how you stopped fearing your dad?" He asked

"What are you getting at?" I asked
"I think the same happened to Alexander" he said " we were at Kaiden's yesterday and Alexander was home, looks like your dad came" he said

"What?" I asked confused. He came? Well it wasn't anything new. He would come and go as he likes

" I saw Alexander in the kitchen. He looked like he was in pain. He was leaning over the counter and he pulled up his shirt and I saw a bruise. It looked new. Looks like your dad beat him and he like you too has gotten sick of his antics" he said

"Jesus Christ" Kaiden whispered

It wasn't anything new. He would hit us
He would do it when he was pissed off and we said something he didn't like or to discipline us.

He stopped hitting me to discipline me because he realised I was no longer scared of him but he still used it on Alexander who still wanted his approval.

"Looks like this bruise your dad gave him is the straw that finally broke the camel's back" Vaughn said

I sighed. I feel sorry for him but I hope this will make him stop trying to get that man's approval.
