I heard that Self-Insert oc's are problematic and annoying and I kinda felt anxious because my Stranger Things persona Alex Shankfire is a Self-Insert oc but then I heard that they're all fine and okay as long it's isn't a Mary Sue or Gary Stu. Let's analyse Alex Shankfire
He lost his parents and his entire race.
He has more than one personality.
He's a good and skillful fighter but can be lost by a Demogorgon and The Mind Flayer because obvious reasons, he never fought them before.
He's still learning about planet Earth.
All of his aliens aren't OP, even the Sawtooth.
So, I guess, he's not a Gary Stu so that's fine.
