There he stood. After all these years. With familiar grey eyes and midnight black hair.
I knew it was only a matter of time before he found me. But I wasn't the same girl he left behind.
I was standing on a highest level of the fort, and I'd seen him before he'd seen me.
Just as his eyes made contact with mine, I yelled out, "Fire," with no remorse.
From every corner of my eye, I saw silver arrows reign down on his pack of wolves. We hit some as howls lined the fort walls, getting into formation again: arrows at the ready, arm's pulled back in position to release again.
I saw fury blaze in his eyes, fury that matched my own anger. I didn't see the boy I had known all my life. I saw an Alpha, a murderer, a man responsible for countless deaths, even of the people I had loved most.
I pulled back my arm, and once again yelled, "Release." On my command, hundreds of arrows reigned down. As did mine. Aimed directly at him.
