Fascination of a woman with a mysterious smile.

Liz is a hustler who uses her looks and charm to go in on the wealthiest men in the rap game to make her living. Sounds great, right? Her problem is she aspires for so much more in l...
We barely finished our food when Liz stammered "let's go out the fire escape" out of nowhere and grabbed a blanket to lead the way. At first, I had no idea what she was talking about, but when we got up there, I understood. We could see all of the city of Detroit and the view was nothing short of amazing.

"Isn't it beautiful?" She asked as she laid the blanket down for us to stretch out.
"It's amazing." I sat next to her. "So, you were saying you had a best friend too?"
"What?" Liz seemed preoccupied.
"You said that you had a friend who passed away also. I just wanted to know what happened and how you deal with shit. Ya know, if you feel like talkin about it."
"Oh, yeah." She looked out to the skyscrapers. "My best friend since middle school, Rochelle, passed away two years ago. Cancer."
"That sucks. Did she fight it for a long time or..."?
"Eleven days." Liz cut me off and looked directly in my eyes. "She was diagnosed with leukemia and died the following week. She was twenty-eight."
"Damn."
Liz gave a weak smile, "I know you understand how it feels. I wish I had more than just a bunch of memories, but I'm just glad to have been part of her life."
I stared out to the horizon which was just beginning to turn orange as the sun set, "Is that why you're so depressed?"
She seemed offended, "I'm not depressed!"
"Yes, you are!" I playfully nudged her shoulder, laughing at her and she laughed back. "You have no job; you have no friends."
"I'm kinda pathetic, huh?" Liz pursed her lips to hide her smile, then got really quiet. "That's why I don't understand what you're doing here with me."
I extended my arm to caress her cheek with the backside of my fingers and she leaned into me. Liz opened her gorgeous green eyes just a few inches from my face and I felt as though we were sharing the same breath.
I leaned forward to kiss her, but this kiss was different from those couple sloppy drunk make out sessions we had. It was slow, sensual. It was the kind of kiss that touched your soul. The sky glowed orange and purple around us as the sun started diminishing into the evening. The last lingering rays of gold shimmered around our beings on the rooftop. The buzzing of cars and workers finishing their day below us were silenced, and all that existed were Liz and I hidden from it all kissing in the colorful sky.
Liz laid back on the blanket and deeply exhaled as I covered her in kisses, safe from the night. I didn't know if she wanted me to keep going, but she gave me the signal when she eased her small hands under my shirt and scraped her slender nails against my skin before pulling my baggy t-shirt from my body. At first my torso broke out in goosebumps against the cool breeze rustling, but then I felt the heat forming between us.
