The day of the festival had finally arrived, and Izuku found himself buzzing with excited anticipation. He, Toga and Yuma were now going back to Uraraka's home, though this time they didn't plan to kidnap her.
It had surprised them that she hadn't found a way back, but Izuku supposed that she, like he once had, was biding her time so as not to blow her cover.
Izuku was now sitting on the sidewalk, beside the mailbox that belonged to Uraraka's home. Of course he was heavily disguised, a shoulder-length wig that was fiery shade of vermilion and all at Toga's suggestion.
Toga herself was disguised as a new person today, a bespectacled, red-headed third year girl, who had a simple dream walking quirk.
Toga was standing up on the porch, waiting for the door to open. It was barely a quarter to sunrise, and yet the door opened, with a short woman who must surely be Uraraka's mother, looking at Toga with a bleary-eyed gaze.
Toga spoke curtly to the woman, and Izuku watched from the sidewalk with a beady-eyed, perceptive glare. The woman then turned back into her house. She reappeared a few minutes later with an equally bleary-eyed and confused Uraraka.
Toga swiftly came up with a liable excuse to be seeing Uraraka this early, which seemed to work as Uraraka turned back inside and reappeared another slow few minutes later, fully dressed and ready.
Toga led her down to the sidewalk as the sliver of light coming from the front door that had stood ajar was gone.
Reaching Izuku and Yuma on the sidewalk, a curious thing happened as Uraraka recognized them.
Her face contorted with bright, undeniable fear. She seemed to quickly realize this, as she masked it with a bit of visible difficulty.
Izuku spared a glance at Yuma, glancing between him and Uraraka. He was hoping to send a silent message to restrain Uraraka if she tried to deny coming with them. Izuku knew something was off if she showed fear, and he wanted to find out what.
A small part of him also wanted to see if it was reversible, and if it would end up being possible to get her back as a friend. The larger, more reasonable part of him, however, knew it would be likely impossible.
"Well, you can see Izuku and Yuma there. It's me Toga, though I'm sure you've figured that out!" Toga told Uraraka, her voice a small, dark whisper. She seemed on edge, which led Izuku to believe that she had seen the fear too.
"Well, let's get back. We only have so long before our next phase begins. Not to mention we ought not to talk in the middle of a street." Izuku muttered to the group, before glancing around and striding off down the long lane of houses.
The other three followed, and by sunrise they had returned to the warehouse. Uraraka was standing, silent and stiff in a corner twelve minutes later; Izuku, Yuma, and Toga all sat around their usual table, waiting around for the time of their next move.
"What did they say to you?" Izuku asked Uraraka, without looking at her, breaking the silence.
"What do you mean?" Uraraka asked hesitantly.
"You aren't the same....They told you, didn't they?" Izuku replies quietly.
He felt Uraraka's gaze burning through the back of his head, he knew she was staring, terrified and likely willing to fight.
"They told me...they told me everything I already knew...but it registered this time. I-I couldn't ignore it. You did such horrible things Deku..." Uraraka replied, her voice wavering with a sort of anguish that was only brought on by betrayal being finally realized.
