A couple days after Christmas I finally went back to the Café.

Our Café.

And I sat alone in a booth.

Our booth.

I ordered myself a black coffee, and the waitress had a look in her eye as to say, where's your companion? But I just stared down at the table with a gleaming plastic surface until she finally turned away.

I saw a flash of yellow down the street, and I thought it was you.

But it was just a ray of sunshine breaking through the clouds, and I couldn't help but think that it could have been you either way.

You're the sun to me.

My coffee was placed on the table.

Black. With a side of cream.

I ignored it and downed the whole cup.
