Chapter Six - Anastasia Romanoff

Maria waited patiently as Mr Dell and Mr Harrington quickly and (frankly) unsuccessfully filtered their way through their folder. Mr Harrington had dropped to the floor and was searching through the paper on the ground all the while Mr Dell had decided to come and talk to Maria. Maria smothered her laughter to greet Mr Dell politely. As expected, Maria found herself answering multiple questions before she was finally freed for her inquisition by Mr Harrington shooting to his feet with a piece of paper.

"Ah, yes, Miss - Miss Anastasia Romanoff, you an heiress?" Mr Harrington joked causing Maria to just look at him with a neutral face, but it was all in the eyes, that look of politely saying 'really?' and 'fuck off'. Seeing the look, Mr Dell quickly grabbed the paper out of Mr Harrington's hand before his eyes skimmed over it.

"Right, Anastasia you are taking Maria's place, fair enough. Welcome to the Science Trip" Mr Dell said opening his arms in a wild gesture.

"Thank you." Maria nodded before she turned to face her gormless classmates. Maria wasn't actually sure what to do. She was stood before her classmates who had no idea who she was. Maria felt herself starting to tug on her cardigan. She was like a deer in the headlights before suddenly Michelle was moving towards her.

"Hey Ana, Maria said you were coming" Michelle said as she moved around the group to meet Maria. Maria would have kissed her best friend for saving her arse - though she thought Ned wouldn't appreciate it. Quickly, Maria stepped forward and wrapped her arms around Michelle.

"Thank you, thank you, thank you" Maria whispered into Michelle's ear, showing her gratitude for Michelle's quick thinking of having 'Ana' already know Michelle. As they pulled apart Maria spoke normally allowing others to hear. "MJ it is good to see you."

The two friends shared some silent looks of worry and laughter before Michelle moved backwards and gestures with her head to follow her to the boys. Maria nodded before she followed her footsteps. Peter and Ned were frantically whispering between each other whilst Peter was staring off in the direction that the black limousine had gone, his hand clutching his phone. The look of disappointment on his face had Maria frowning. What was he disappointed by?

"Hey guys, this is Anastasia. She's a long lost member of Aunt Natasha's family, I think Maria said" Michelle introduced. Ned immediately gave a big smile and waved at Maria with utter joy. He was such a happy go lucky kind of guy. She couldn't help but smile at the hat he wore, it was becoming strange to see him without one.

"Yes. I am" Maria confirmed worth a nod. Peter pulled his gaze over to her at her voice. She saw the polite smile he gave her.

"Anyway, she's super cool and great fun and we are going to keep her safe as I promised Maria" Michelle finished only for Peter to interject at the mention of Maria once more.

"Where is Maria?"

"She umm ..." Maria started sharing a quick glance with Michelle before she acted as if she was struggling to find the English. "There was a complication. She cannot leave, err, New York but she knew I wanted to see Europe again and offered this place to me."

"Right. Well it's nice to meet you" Peter replied giving her an awkward wave.

"You're Peter. Peter Parker" Maria stared causing him to nod at her. Maria couldn't help but tease him when she was given the opportunity. "I know of you. Maria and I ... talk."
