Dusk, or Dusk Between Night And Day, was once a member of The Tribe Of Rushing Water. He was a crave-guard, but wasn't widely respected there, being the son of a cat that many considered a traitor. However, he happened to fall for A prey hunter named Amber (Amber that traps the fly), a tricksy and excitable cat, who happened to be the daughter of the Stoneteller's brother, Owl That Screeches In Moonlight.
When the Stoneteller's died without a next-in-line, there was a massive power struggle within the Tribe. At this point, Amber was expecting kits, and to be caught in the crossfire of the struggle, they determined, would be dangerous for the newborns. So Dusk and Amber left the mountains, and travelled to the forest, where they found the barn and settled there with their kits, Ghost (Ghost Of The Fighting Spirits) and Seventh (Seventh Star That Shines At Night).
