"Come on Chris. Let's go get ready for bed." Eddie says as he notices Chris nodding off on the couch trying to watch National Lampoons Christmas Vacation.

Chris groans and sits up, rubbing his eyes.

"I want to see my baby first." Chris replies and grabs his glasses off of the side table.

Eddie helps his son off the couch and nods, "Momma took Hadley upstairs because she was getting fussy. If she's awake you can see her, okay?"

Chris nods and Eddie picks him up to go up stairs. They turn into the nursery to see Y/N sitting in the rocking chair reading Hadley, who is smiling and cooing back at her mom, a book.

Eddie knocks on the door and comes in, putting Christopher back on the ground once he was by the chair the girls were in.

"We came to say goodnight." Eddie says, leaning down to kiss Y/N's forehead.

Y/N smiles and shifts the baby so there is room for Chris in her lap.

"Do you want me to read you both a book before bed?"

Christopher nods eagerly and Y/N wraps her arm around him to pull him into her lap.

She turns to the beginning of the book and says the title.

Eddie's phone rings, causing everyone to turn their attention to it.

There had been a major incident and there was a possibility firefighters would get called in, unfortunately.

Eddie sees that his Mother is the one calling, so he groans.

"Dad, you don't have to go to work do you?" Christopher asks, disappointed.

"No buddy. It's your abuela. I'll be back in a few minutes, okay."

He exits the room and answers his phone.

"Hello."

"Edmundo, it's your mamá. I was wondering when you were going to bring your family home. The baby has been here for two months and we have yet to meet her."

He knew that this was coming. She's trying to con him into moving back.

"Mamá, her name is Hadley. Y/N can't just pack up and travel first of all, she's a doctor. Second of all we've been short staffed at work so there's a chance that I could get called in at anytime. Third, we are trying to keep Hadley contained to certain places and people. Flu season is running rampant and we aren't willing to take any chances with flying." He tries to explain.

"Well what are we supposed to do? We can't see our granddaughter? It's not fair that you took of with Chris and now we can't even meet her. Does she not like us or something?!" Eddie sighs and rolls his eyes, trying not to blow a gasket.

"What do you mean?"

"Your babies mother. Does she not like us?"

Eddie's ears are steaming and he slaps his hand on the railing around the stairs.

"My daughters name is Hadley and my children's mothers name is Y/N. Why can't you say their names?!" He exclaims, "Y/N has never met you, why would she have a reason to not like you? Did you do something that makes you not like-able?" He pushes.

Eddie couldn't figure out why his parents could never say Y/N's name. It's almost like they think they are above her and everyone else.

"Edmundo! How dare you speak to me that way!"

"How dare you call me on Christmas Eve, my baby's first Christmas Eve and try to ruin my time with my family! Call me when you guys can grow up and acknowledge that Christopher isn't coming back to you and I have moved on and created a life for myself out here." He hangs up his phone and runs his hands over his face.

After a moment Eddie looks at his watch and notices that it's Christopher's bedtime, so he makes his way back into Hadley's nursery.

A soft voice comes from the room, causing him to stop in his tracks.

"Silent night, holy night. All is calm, all is bright.
Round yon Virgin, Mother and Child. Holy infant so tender and mild. Sleep in heavenly peace,
Sleep in heavenly peace." Y/N sings, rocking her kids to sleep.

Eddie pokes his head in the room and smiles at the sight.

He knows he did something right now. Y/N is perfect and so are their kids.

"Silent night, holy night. Shepherds quake at the sight. Glories stream from heaven afar. Heavenly hosts sing Alleluia. Christ the Savior is born!
Christ the Savior is born." Y/N continues as she runs her hand through Christopher's hair and rubs his neck.

Eddie continues to watch, just melting at the sight of the people he loves the most.

"Silent night, holy night. Son of God love's pure light. Radiant beams from Thy holy face. With dawn of redeeming grace, Jesus Lord, at Thy birth
Jesus Lord, at Thy birth." She finishes.

Y/N presses a kiss to both kiss heads and sighs, leaning further back into her chair.

Eddie finally comes into the room and sends her a bright smile.

"You're amazing." He says.

Y/N giggles softly and shrugs.

"What can I say? I've got a natural touch."

"You most certainly do." He walks over and presses a quick, but sweet kiss to her lips.

"Is everything okay with your mom? You sounded pretty upset out there?" She asks quietly.

Eddie nods and lifts Christopher out of her lap.

"Everything's okay. My mom is just being rude."

Y/N frowns, knowing she is the cause of it.

"I'm sorry that I can't just go on trips without much notice, but you and Chris could go if you guys want. I don't want to hold you back from seeing your family." She offers, getting up to put Hadley in her crib and make sure her monitors are hooked up.

Eddie shake his head no. "Absolutely not. This is my family." He circles his finger around the room, "And if my parents can't accept that and respect our wishes and choices, I guess they're not my family." Eddie says.

Before Y/N can say anything he walks out of the room and into Christopher's room to put him to bed.

Y/N sighs, but stays with Hadley a little longer to make sure she's okay for the night.

Eddie eventually makes his way back in and wraps his arms around Y/N's waist so she can lean back into him.

"I'm not going to let them walk all over us and disrespect us at all. I'm tired of it happening and it won't happen to you, Hadley, Christopher or myself anymore. I will cut off all contact and ties with them if I have to. I'm finally happy, I'm not willing to risk this."

Y/N turns around in his arms and wraps her arms around his neck.

"I love you, Eddie. Thank you for sticking up for us."

"Always, mi amor."
