"Hey baby" Meredith smiled as she got her daughter out of bed

"Mommy!" The little girl giggled

"Did you sleep okay?" She smiled as she ticked her daughter's belly

"Yes mommy" Grace giggled

"Let's get up. Mommy needs to go to work so you can go to daycare" Meredith smiled and winced a but as she lifted her daughter into her arms

Grace looked at her mother and placed her head down on Meredith's shoulder

She took Grace to get themselves ready and then went to the kitchen to have breakfast

"Mommy, I want "fwuity loops!" Grace smiled

"I'm sorry baby. You know daddy thinks those aren't good for you. Let's have some oatmeal" Meredith softly smiled

"Kay" Grace sighed and waited until Meredith placed the food down in front of her

"So tonight mommy's gonna come get you from daycare and then we can go see the ferries really quick

"Daddy?" Grace frowned

"Daddy's working late" Meredith found herself slightly smiling

"Kay" Grace smiled and started eating

"I love you, princess" Meredith whispered as her voice cracked a bit

"Love you too mommy" Grace blew her mom a kiss

"Hurry up baby, we have to go soon" Meredith reminded her daughter

"Mommy, where's your oatmeal?" Grace asked

"Mommy's having coffee. I'm not hungry, baby. I'll go grab your shoes and jacket" Meredith walked out of the room as her daughter continued eating

She winced again as she tried to bend tl grab her and Grace's shoes "Damnit" She muttered

"Mommy! Mommy!" Grace yelled as she ran into the hallway

"Is your breakfast finished?" Meredith frowned

"Almost!" Grace smiled

"Then first go finish it baby. I'll be right back" Meredith smiled softly. As Grace ran out Meredith added something "I love you so much" she softly smiled

As Meredith and Grace arrived at Seattle Grace, her new workplace since a few days after her husband Dr Matt Jones got offered the position of head of trauma

Meredith is an amazing general attending herself but worked less hours since her daughter was born even if that wasn't the real reason why..

"Doctor Grey!" Miranda yelled which made Meredith flinch as she pulled Grace tighter into her arms

"Oh- Dr Bailey" She smiled softly

"Are you doing okay?" Bailey frowned

"I'm fine" Meredith smiled "Did you need me?" She tried to change the subject

"Yes, the chief wanted me to take over his surgery so can you take my appy in half an hour?" Bailey asked

"Of course. I'll drop of this cutie then I'll go change" Meredith softly replied

"Do you want me to take her to daycare?" Bailey offered

"No!" She quickly replied which scared herself "I mean- I got it. I wanna bring her for myself" Meredith softly smiled before taking off

As Meredith and Grace finally reached daycare, Meredith reminded the nurse that she was about to pick up Grace

"Luv mommy!" Grace smiled

"Love you too Gracie" Meredith kissed the little girl's cheek and left off and went over to the attendings' lounge

"Meredith!" Alex ran in

"Oh- Alex, I didn't know you worked here" She quietly said as she saw everyone looking at her

"Yes! It's amazing to have you here. I heard you found yourself a husband and you two have a beautiful daughter" Alex smiled widely as he pulled her into a hug

Meredith winced when Alex' hands rubbed her back. She hoped no one heard it or saw the change in heh facial expression. She was saved by her pager that was going off

"Alex- I, uh-" She stuttered

"Go Mer, it's okay!" He laughed softly

Meredith nodded and ran to the ER. She hates the ER and that's not because of the causes..

"Hey" Matt placed his hand tightly on her back as he stood next to her in the ambulance bay

"Hi" Meredith quietly replied

"How was our princess this morning?" He asked

"Being good as always" Meredith said as she felt his grip tightening even more right on one of her worst bruises

"Didn't she miss daddy?" Matt frowned

"She-She did" Meredith nodded

At that moment two of the other doctors seem to find something odd. Both Mark Sloan and Derek Shepherd were looking at each other. It could have been because they didn't like Matt as he gave them weird vibes or it could be that he didn't have his beautiful wife the respect she deserves

As the ambulance stopped in front of them, Matt actually pushed Meredith out of his way and Derek had noticed. He grabbed Meredith's arm "Are you okay?" He asked

Meredith nodded in response and hurried herself to her patient as she saw Matt's eyes getting dark

"I-I need CT for his abdomen!" Meredith yelled

"I need a head CT!" Derek yelled

"I'm sure he has fluids around his heart. I'll need to get in a soon as possible" Matt said

"I need to get him a head CT first" Derek stated "He could have a brain bleed"

"This is my terrain, I'm the boss here and I need to get in to solve this problem" Matt yelled

"I need that CT of his abdomen too" Meredith said just loud enough for both of them to clearly understand her

"You two can wait. Once I got these fluids away, I'll page you so you two can get your CT" Matt rolled his eyes and ran after his patient
