so
there's a ✨specific concept✨ that i've mostly read in stories with like,,, royalty

it's when two people get married for
idk power, status, to ensure the safety of their people, to prevent a war etc...

and they're not in love but agree to ... let each other have different lovers?

and i personally really don't see anything wrong with it? but so many people seem to resent it?

the first thing i've thought about relating to this is The Red Queen (pretty cool book tbh)

and they just,,,
the marriage didn't happen

like the mc was in love with this prince right? and he was supposed to marry some princess (whom i really like)

but they agreed "hey, we're not in love and we both have girlfriends, let's give them high positions in court when we marry and then finally get some stability in this kingdom while respectively having thriving love lives

bc the main character (mare was her name i think?) broke up with him bc of that??
