"I.. I just don't understand why you didn't tell me?" the Thai Driver asked quietly, his eyebrows furrowed in confusion. Sighing Y/N rubbed her forehead slightly the hot Austin sun not helping the frequent headaches she'd been having during her second trimester "You're coming back next season Alex, you're going to be really busy." the y/h/c woman said simply. Scoffing sadly the tall man couldn't help but frown at the girl's declaration he couldn't tell if Y/N had meant for it to hurt or whether she was unusually blunt by accident. "You know I always make time for my family." Alex retaliated utterly heartbroken by the young Horner's statement. "But I'm not your family." Y/N mumbled, keeping her eyes glued to the other drivers gathered for the F1 NBA free throw challenge knowing if her y/e/c orbs caught Alex's she'd crumble.

"Look, this really isn't the time or place for this conversation." Y/N added swiftly bringing her sunglasses down from their perched position on top of  her y/h/c locks. "There's never going to be a time or place suitable." Alex replied awkwardly reaching for the girl's y/s/c wrist in an attempt to stop her from leaving. Clearing his throat the driver ran his dark eyes over the small crowd envying how carefree they all seemed. "It's not true by the way." Alex started finally able to catch Y/N's gaze even though her eyes where hidden by the dark lenses he reveled in the fact he had her undivided attention. "You are my family Y/N/N even if you don't want to be."

"God Alex just stop. Stop trying to force this role on me." Y/N groaned in exasperation pulling her wrist out of the tan man's faint grasp. "We are just two people connected by an event that meant fuck all." Running a stressed hand through her soft waves of y/h/c locks the girl couldn't help but release a shaky breath. "I'm sorry I can't conform to this version you want. What did you expect to happen? For me to fall at your feet declaring my undying love?" Biting her lip anxiously Y/N cringed at the total word vomit pouring out from her but she couldn't stop it. "Wake up Alex it was one night."

"Are you ok Y/N?" Max questioned his friend concerned at her tense stance. The Dutchman had been watching the conversation unfolding between the pair and had become bothered by the y/h girls clearly distressed form, but the normally stern male had hesitated about involving himself. Max had been friends with Y/N since he'd signed his contract with Red Bull and they'd grown up together on the road. They'd survived the painful change from teenhood to young adults together but Max knew the Horner girl liked being independent. "Why can't you just leave me alone? I can't breathe around you people!" Y/N murmured angrily, pushing Max's outstretched arms away before storming off. "What did you do Albon?" Max asked, his stormy eyes cold. Raising his hands in defence Alex looked stunned "Why do you assume I did anything?"

"She was fine before she saw you." The Red Bull driver retaliated harshly. "Lay off it Verstappen I didn't do anything." Alex spat back trying not to rise to the bait, Max was picking for a fight but from experience his bark was a lot worse than his bite. "Sure that's why she just shouted at me before taking off!" the Dutchman hissed. "Must be pregnancy hormones or something." Alex stated plainly with a shrug of his shoulders a tight-lipped smile finding its home on his tanned face. "You listen to me and you listen good, got it? I'm not having you be the reason she cuts all contact again so you better fix it" Max retorted heatedly shooting his ex teammate a mocking smile. "You're not her Dad Max." Alex said directly. Nodding sarcastically Max mulled over the Thai drivers statement. "You're lucky I'm not Christian. And that you've got a seat at Williams next season mean's we'll be seeing a lot more of each other on the track."
