-(Y/N) POV-

"This is the place?" I asked out loud in confusion as I examined the large building in front of me in the middle of the afternoon. "Why does she want to meet at a hospital in the middle of Tokyo?"

"Sorry I kept you waiting but I see you found your way here just fine." He heard behind him as he turned around to see Shoya wearing a simple dark blue long sleeve shirt and tight leggings as she stared at me with her usual blank stare but noticed a small hint of nervousness in her expression.

"I was only waiting for about twenty minutes and it wasn't hard but why do you want to meet up here? I was expecting a shopping district or something."

"I know I didn't tell you where but if I told you the real reason then you probably didn't want to come." She said looking down a bit, averting her eyes away from me to hide her shame.

"Hey, it's okay." I said placing my hands on her shoulder to reassure her. "It doesn't matter what you want to do or where, as long as we can hang out then I'm happy to tag along."

"Thanks." She softly smiled, feeling her cheeks warm up.

"So what's the real reason we're here?" I asked, taking a side glance at the hospital.

"I... I'm going to see my m-mother and I want... I want you by my side when I do." She said nervously:

"And that's a bad thing?"

"I haven't spoken or seen in years."

"Oh..." I said my eyes slightly widened, this is going to be awkward but a small smile appeared on my face. "Then you have a lot of catching up to do." I grabbed her hand gently as she softly smiled before we made our way towards the hospital. We made our way through the front door and towards the front desk where we were greeted by the receptionist who happens to be a rather old-looking woman.

"How may I help you tod- Shoya?" The receptionist asked in shock when she noticed Shoya standing behind her as if she was trying to hide herself behind me.

"You know her?" I asked The receptionist.

"Not personally no, but you don't see anyone with red and white hair." She answered before looking over at Shoya and softly smiled. "My you have grown to be a fine young woman."

"T-Thank you..."

"I assume you're here to see your mother?"

"Yes..." Shoya softly answered, earning a small smile from the receptionist.

"Well, she's in room 108, third door to the right." The receptionist said.

"Thank you again ummm..."

"Miki Araya."

"Well Ms. Araya, thank you for the help but we should get going." Shoya said, grabbing my hand before dragging me away.

"Good luck!" Miki called out as she watched us walk away towards where Shoya's mom is staying.

"So... what happened to your mom to end up here?" I asked, causing her to slightly flinch and turn her head away.

"Ummm.... You see..." She trailed off uncomfortably not knowing what to say or even wanting to talk about it as I gently tightened my grip around her hand.

"Hey, if it's a private family thing you don't have to tell me, but if you ever need someone to talk to I'm here for you when you're ready." I said calmly as she still didn't look back at me but softly smiled at my words.

"Thank you." She softly said until she spotted the room up ahead and her smile faltered. "There's the room." She said as we then stood in front of the door, with Shoya nervously staring at it while I was looking at her a bit concerningly.
