I close up shop by 5pm today. Not too bad, business wise. My shop's still pretty new around here, but it seems like the word's already being spread pretty fast—as it should because I have the best coffee out there!

I hang my apron on its usual hook, grab my keys from the back room and lock up shop on my way out. I look to the parking lot—empty, apart from a single black 2018 Mustang GT accented in red trimmings, the words RED RIOT in paint splatter print tattooed across the side. I can't help but scowl and roll my eyes as the engine revs upon my presence.

"Hey Blondie, need a lift?" Kirishima yells out the window, then opens the doors to go outside and lean on his shitty little kinda cool car. "Pretty sweet, right? I haven't taken this baby out in a while, but I figured it's a special occasion. Whatcha think?"

I growl lowly, rolling my eyes again. "It's, dramatic."
Kiri frowns. "Aw, that's it?"
"Fine, it's pretty awesome, Shitty Hair! Happy?!"
He laughs. "Yes I am. Thanks Bakubro. Now hop on in, we got a game to catch dude!"
Kiri snakes around the car and opens up the passenger side door, a hand gestured toward the inside. I sigh, only blushing slightly because Kiri being a gentleman to me is pretty cute, dammit.
I hop in as told, buckling up while the red haired boy jumps driver, and with a loud engine rev, we're instantly on our way.

We drive in silence for at least 15 minutes before I muster up the courage to finally ask him something I probably should have asked when he first came back into my life a month ago—I've just been avoiding it because, well, as I said before—I'm afraid of the answer.
"Kiri..." I say in a mumble. His eyes shift slightly.
"Yes, Bakugou?"
I take in a deep breath, letting it out slowly. "What...have you been up to these past 5 years?"
Kiri pauses, and it's silent for at least 30 seconds, before he slows to a stop at a red light.
"I've been missing you, Bakugou."
My eyes widen and I turn toward the window before he could notice the red flushing over my face.
"I-I know that, dumbass," I say. "I mean, what have you been doing with your life? Any new hobbies? New job? What's going on with you, dammit."
Kiri stares forward, driving again as the light turns green.
"Yeah," he says. "Life's been okay. I'm pretty popular now I guess, with my hero work that is. I'm rich now, that's how I got this car." He gives a soft, yet sort of sad chuckle. "Um, yeah. I'm in a decent hero society with Todo and Deku actually. Crazy right? They're doing good, by the way. They wanted to come see you but they've been so busy, with Deku being the number one hero and everything."
"What?!" My face heats up for a whole other reason now, blood boiling through my veins. "How'd a damn nerd like Deku become the number one hero? That little shit..." My fists clench on my thighs, teeth tight together.
"Relax bro, he's really been pulling his weight to keep everyone safe. Honestly, I think he deserves it."

I glare. "Since when do you support Deku so much?"
"Well I mean he is at my hero society," Kiri says. "I kinda have to support him. Also, he's not a bad guy. I like the little dude. I don't know why you hate him so much."
It pisses me off that I have this feeling, but the way Kirishima is talking about Deku makes me, I don't know, jealous maybe.
"Seems like you two are closer than ever, huh? You guys dating or something?"
I instantly regret asking that. I look down into my lap, rubbing my veiny fist impatiently. When he doesn't answer right away, my head jerks in his direction, now terrified for what may come out of his mouth.
"I mean, he did ask me out like a long time ago. I...said no, though. I don't know, I wouldn't say he's my dating type, but he took it well and now we're good friends. Todoroki and Deku are engaged, by the way. I know, insane, right? Deku dated Ochako for 2 years before getting with Todo. I always knew he was bisexual. Me, well, I've been on like two dates in the past 5 years—both went nowhere. I've been asked out a lot, though. But, I don't know. I just...none of them felt—right—you know? They just weren't...my..." He pauses, looking out the window and suddenly pointing. "O-oh, uh, here's a convenience store. Yeah, uh, let's go there." He chuckles awkwardly, then gets into the turning lane.

My brows crease further. "Did you think you could just brush over the fact that Deku asked you out?!"
I don't know why out of everything he just spilled to me, THAT'S the part I bring up.
Kiri laughs. "I know right? That was crazy! I mean, if we did start dating, I know you'd hate me, and I wouldn't want that. Not that I really wanted Deku anyway, but... you hating me is like, the worse thing ever man."
"I already hate you, dumbass!"
He laughs again. "Suuure. Whatever you say, Bakugou."
"Dammit Shitty Hair, why'd you let Deku talk to you anyway?!"
"Chill dude," Kiri smiles at my rage. "It's my job. What, do you want me to just ignore the dude I work beside at my job?"
"Yes! I do!" I grunt, crossing my arms and looking away. That damn Kiri, who does he think he is? Letting Deku grow a crush on him like that.
"You're adorable when you're all jealous." Kiri smirks at me, and I grab a chunk full of that shitty hair into my fist while he's pulling into the convenience store parking lot, rattling him left and right.
"Who says I'm jealous dumbass?!? I just don't like you hanging out with a nerd like that dumb Deku!"
"Oww okay, okay! Geez, Bakugou!"
I let go of him with a shove, crossing my arms again as we park. Jealous. Pfft! Who does he think he is? I'm not....dammit—I'm jealous as hell, and I don't even know why. It's not like they ever dated. I think it's just the thought of Deku trying to get with Kirishima while I'm out of the picture that I'm really mad about. That damn snake. What if Kiri had said yes? I...I would have lost everything...

Kiri brushes himself off after my attack, fixing that stupid red porcupine he calls hair, then looks at me with caution.
"You okay?" he says.
I sigh. "Yeah. Whatever."
"Hey." Kiri places a hand on my shoulder, rubbing it gently. "Cheer up. You know you're still the number one hero in my book, right? No one compares to the Great Bakugou Katsuki! You're amazing, bro. Don't forget that."
Damn, I hate the way my heart skips a beat when he looks at me like that, or the way I tense up whenever he touches me.
I'm blushing again. "Yeah. I know. T-thanks, Kiri. It means a lot I guess. Now shutup and let's go get some snacks."
Kiri giggles softly, his face also a bit more red. "Hell yeah!"
