pepper had stood outside of august's room for twenty minutes. she was beginning to fear the possibility of her standing out there all day when she took out her phone.

after a quick text sent to suna, pepper prepared to tip toe away. why could kalynn just fall asleep already?! it would make things so much easier.

without thinking about how utterly creepy it was that pepper stood, frozen by august's door for nearly half an hour, peering through a small crack in the door as her only way to tell when it was safe to move, pepper walked away.

suna appeared minutes later, phone in hand. ve kept quiet, toeing the line of creaks and quiet steps as ve neared august's door. there was minimal noise from inside, only the occasional audio of a tiktok that kalynn played.

it was easy enough to shut the door, although nerve wracking to the max. suna cringed at the small gust of wind that came from the motion, locking the door shortly after.
