Inertia and release

I tried to crack my knuckles in a certain way. I was halted when they failed to sound, I failed to feel the motion past the apex of the crack. I repeated my motion, and again was surprised.
Nothing.
Then I remembered it was your hands that cracked that way, and to boot it was your toes. Mine suddenly felt stiff and caged. I wished I could crack yours. To feel that swiiiiing past the crest of the chasm.
I now believe that feeling of speed, that feeling of now, has been noticeably missing in my life. I want to lay my head on your stomach again, feel your delicate fingers running through my hair. I feel broken and empty.
