Haseena sighed and went back inside. There wasn't a single place she could go without thinking of Karishma and Ammi only made it worse by telling her(Haseena) to forgive her. She had her dinner in silence and went straight to her room for another sleepless night.
The next day at MPT:
Everyone was doing their work (no bakaiti today) when Haseena entered. They saluted her and she was going to her cabin when Karishma stopped her.
KS: Ah- Maddam Sir, humko kuch baat karna hai aapse
HM: Chaliye cabin me
Karishma followed her into the cabin and stood in front of her desk. She handed her an envelope without saying a word.
HM: Ek baar isteefa deke mann nahi bhara? (taunting)
KS: Thik se padhiye, transfer letter hai
Haseena looked at her in shock.
KS: Ji bilkul sahi suna aapne, transfer letter hi hai hamara. Aapne toh saare rishte tod diye humse phir iss thane me rehka kaa fayda. Waise bhi kisi aur thane mein chale jayege toh shyd hamare kaano me roz jajbaato ki peepdi nahi bajayi jayegi.
HM: Hum kuch bolte toh bhi farak nahi padta isliye aapko samjhakar apni energy barbaad nahi karni. Aapko jo sahi lage kijiye, hum ispe sign kardenge
KS: Dhanyawaad
Haseena nodded and Karishma left the cabin. She was going back to her desk when she saw Cheetoshpa doing their world-famoous oiling check.
KS: Ama aap logo ko aur koi kam nahi hai kaa? Nahi Pushpaji ka toh hum samajhte hai lekin tum dono itne bewakoof kabse hogaye (referring to Cheetosh)
CC: Madam, madam, ee sab Pushpaji hi sikhayi hai humko...jo bolna hai unko boliye
KS: Hmmm laga hi tha humko...
PS: Toh aur kya kare? Bade hai ghar ke, iss thane ke, baakiyon pe nazar rakhni padti hai
KS: Badi hai aap ghar pe lekin yaha hum aapke senior hai aur senior pe nazar rakhne ki saza....(taking out her gun)
Pushpaji got scared and ran back to her desk.
KS: Tum dono ke liye muhrat nikalvaye?
Cheetosh scampered off as well.
The next day, Karishma recieved her signed transfer application in the mail. She picked it up with a sigh and left for the airport. Cheetoshpa stayed around Haseena all day and tried to convince her to meet Karishma at every chance they got. Haseena was just so irritated from their pleas that she finally agreed and went to meet Karishma for one last time.
She reached the airport and saw Karishma taking bags out from the trunk of a car. Haseena took a deep breath and went upto Karishma. She turned around with pain clearly visible on her face.
KS: Saare rishte toh tod diye aapne, ab kaa bacha hai?
HM: Hum sirf aapko aakhri baar alvida kehne aaye the lekin aapko wo bhi manzoor nahi toh koi baat nahi hum chale jaate hai wapas.
KS: Yeh indirect taana mat maariye humko, jo bolna hai seedhe seedhe boliye jyada waqt nahi hai hamare paas.
HM: Jaane se pehle ek baar hume batana zaroori nahi samjha?
KS: Kaa pharak padta bata dete toh? Vaise bhi aap khud hi chahti thi ki hum aapse door hojaaye aur aapko aur dard naa de toh bas wahi kar rahe hai. Agar hamare bina aap khush hai toh hum aapka khushi nahi cheen sakte...hum jaa rahe hai aapki zindagi se hamesha ke liye. Aasan toh nahi hai lekin koshish jarur karenge aapse nafrat karne ki jaisa aap humse kar rahi hai. Aur bhagwan se prarthna karenge ki koi aur aapki zindagi mein aaye aur aapko wo saari khushiyan de paaye jo humne cheen li thi
HM: Yeh sahi hai, saare faisle aap khud hi lelijiye. Zindagi me aane ka faisla aapka, zindagi se jaane ka faisla aapka. Pyaar karne ka faisla aapka aur dhoka dene ka faisla bhi aapka. Sab kuch aap hi karlengi toh hum kya baithke chane bechenge?
Karishma turned around and opened her mouth to say something but Haseena didn't let her speak.
HM: Nahi ab aap chup chaap kaan kholke hamari baat suniye! Suniye ki kyu humne aapse dosti tod di, kyun aapko apne aap se alag kardiya! Kyunki hum thak chuke the dhoke khane se, hum thak chuke the iss nonstop chakkar se jo aajtak hamare saath hota raha hai! Sirf aap nahi, hamare zindagi mein aane wale saare log ne bas hume khilona samajhke hamara istemaal kiya hai! Nafrat karte hai hum unn sab se aur isiliye hum akele rehna hi pasand karta hai. Lekin aapme toh baat hi alag hai, chahte huye bhi nafrat nhi kar sakte aapse. Jis insaan ne hamari har madad ko dakhal andaazi kehke thukra diya, hamare sabse zaruratmand waqt me hamara saath chod diya, hamare bharosa jeetke ek hi jhatke me tod diya, na jaane kitni baar hamari naukri ko khatre me daala usse kaise bataye hi hum ab bhi usse beintehaan pyaar karte hai
Karishma looked at her, surprised and happy at the same time
HM: Haan hum karte hai aapse pyaar. Pehle din se karte the, ab bhi karte hai aur zindagi bhar karte rahenge chahe aap kitni bhi baar hume dhoka dede! Bohot vishwas tha hume aap par, dil se aapko apna maana tha kabhi khudko aapse door nahi karna chahte the...lekin shayad Allah ko hamari khushi manzoor nahi hai toh hamare beech bhi dooriyan paida kar di.
KS: Agar itna hi pyaar karti hai humse toh bol dijiye na saaf saaf. Kahe apne siddhanto aur self-respect ko beechme laa rahi hai. Aapko uss din hi bole the hum ki humne jindagi me kabhi kisipe vishwas nahi kiya isi darr mein ki kahi wo hume dhoka na dede. Aap pehli insaan thi, Patidev ke baad, jinko humne apne itna kareeb aane diya, jinko sabkuch batane se kabhi hichkichaye nahi aur aap keh rahi hai hi humne dhoka diya aapko?! Itna hi samajh paayi thi aap humko?
Haseena shook her head and sighed. Why didn't Karishma understand her?! Only she knew how broken, how alone she was feeling the day Karishma resigned from duty. Only she knew how heartbreaking it was to find out that her best friend didn't trust her enough to tell her the true reason for leaving her dream job!
Just then, Ammi's words replayed in her head, "Chodte waqt unki aankho me dekha tha tumne? Unki aankho me dard dekha tha tumne? Agar iska jawaab haan hai toh vo ab bhi tujhse itna hi pyaar karti hai jitna pehle kiya." She remembered how restless Karishma was looking the day she gave her resignation. She remembered looking into her eyes the day Haseena broke their friendship and seeing something more than pain. Thats when Haseena realized her mistake and she filled up with guilt. All this time, she had only been thinking about her own pain but she hadn't thought even once that Karishma had probably suffered way more than her.
By the time Haseena had realized her mistake, Karishma was already walking towards the aiport building. There was no chance of stopping her now, but Haseena wanted to give it one last try.
HM: Karishma Singh, rukiye!
