isabella and craig were now behind a nurse infront of emmas room. the duo tried their best to keep the nurse from coming up to the room but they obviously failed. the nurse pulled emma away from her father, as the duo just stood in the door way confused on what was going on. the nurse had told shane to say goodbye to emma, but he got angry and threw his plate off food to the ground. isabella had held out her hand for emma to grab to comfort her.

nurse had gotten her father to calm down by giving him his things to knit. emma let go of her friends hand and told her dad she would write him and he could write her, so she wrote down her address so he could keep in touch with her. "craig take a picture of them. i know emma or her dad would love that." isabella spoke nudging her cousin who nodded and held up his camera taking a picture of the duo talking. the nurse walked the trio downstairs after emma said her goodbye.

"my mom is such a liar.!" emma spoke angrily as the trio made their way back to the train station to take a train home. "shes probably got an explanation." craig spoke trying to calm the girl down. "like what? shes evil?" emma spoke, "em maybe she wasnt ready to tell you yet." isabella spoke looking at her friend. "i hate her. i so wish she wasnt my mom." emma exclaimed making the two share looks, "no. youre overreacting." craig spoke as isabella nodded in agreement. "craig my father is brain damaged." emma spoke looking at the curly hair boy, "at least you have a dad, last time i checked you had two." craig snapped a bit obviously making emma feel bad.

"im sorry. im an idiot." emma spoke following after the older boy as isabella was walking beside him. "no youre not." isabella spoke looking at the blonde. "lets just go home." craig spoke walking over to the doors of the train station. the trio looked through the windows, "sorry you just missed the last train. no more til morning." a train worker spoke looking at the trio who were shocked. emma and isabella shared looks, "nothing?" emma asked the worker, "nope." the worker spoke. "well this is gonna be one fun ride home." isabella spoke sarcastically as she called her uncle joey to come get them.

joey had showed up a bit later and walked over to the trio walking them back to his car. "what a great way to start off the school year guys." joey spoke angrily at the trio, "second day of school and your like oh i know lets skip! oh arent we cool? you know it took me over a hour to get here? what am i a taxi service? just one question, stouffville? what on earth is in stouffville?" joey spoke and turned to the trio as they got to his car. "my dad." emma spoke looking at joey then opened the car door getting into the car, isabella following in after her closing the car door. craig got in the passenger side as joey started the car and drove home.

"hey em what was that about?" isabella spoke passing snake as she made her way up the steps to her blonde friend. "it was about last night but now i think i should call my mom. lets go iz." emma spoke linking arms with her friend going off to the school phone to call her mom. the two girls were now at the phone, isabella watched emma put the quarter in and type her home phone number in waiting for her mom to answer. there was no answer and emma was confused as the two girls heard the beeping from the phone. "she didnt answer iz. wanna come with me i wanna apologize." emma spoke taking her quarter back. isabella followed her blonde friend walking to her house with her.

the two made it back to emmas house, emma unlocked the door letting the two inside. shane was there making a mess obviously a little angry and emmas mom looked like her water just broke. "mom! whats happened?" emma asked looking over at her mom as isabella stood beside her. "shane? what are you doing?" emma asked looking over at her father who was still making a mess. "she tricked me!" shane spoke pointing to her mom, "em this is it. its time." spike spoke holdng her stomach. "no shes a liar." shane spoke getting closer to spike. "shes my mom and if you hurt her i will never ever speak to you again." emma snapped at her father.

"phone snake." spike spoke looking over at the two girls who nodded, as emma and isabella stepped forward to get the phone. "no youre trying to send me away. im not going anywhere." shane spoke sitting down on the couch. "but mom needs help. so give us the phone." emma spoke looking at her father who was fidgeting around. isabella found some yarn and a needle and handed it to emma remembering he liked to knit. "take moms knitting. you like to knit." emma spoke softly to her father, handing him the knitting then gets the phone from him.

emma had just phoned the school, and now the two girls were comforting spike. "okay remember mom breathe in through your nose, out through your mouth all at once. ill phone liz." emma spoke grabbing the phone as isabella held emmas other hand not really knowing what to do. "the babys fine. you have nothing to worry about." liz spoke looking at spike. isabella had just brought in emma a towel to wipe her moms sweat off her face.

the door busted open with a camera flash, the group of girls looked over seeing snake. snake rushed over to his wife as shane was still sat on the couch knitting. "hi snake." shane spoke looking over at snake, who looked at his wife then to emma and isabella. emma told her father to shh then told snake that everyone was okay. the two grade 9 girls sat there grossed out a bit as spike was groaning and trying to squeeze the baby out. isabella grabbed emmas free hand, happy for her friend to become a big sister.

isabella and emma were now sat outside with shane waiting for the hospital people to come get him. he had also finished fixing emmas baby brother a hat. "you fixed it." emma spoke as shane handed her the knitted hat. "its beautiful." isabella spoke looking at the hat smiling at her friend. "your moms not very good at knitting." shane said looking over at his daughter, isabella sat there looking at the road as they had their moment together. isabella was happy for emma as she had found out who her dad.

soon enough a car from the hospital pulled up ready to pick up shane. "shane. its time to go." a nurse spoke looking at the trio on the steps of emmas house. shane had gotten up and started walking away. isabella nudged emma handing her the picture craig of her and shane. "wait! craig took it. its a photo of me and you." emma spoke following her father handing him the picture of them. "bye bye emma. bye bye iz." shane spoke looking at his daughter then waving over to the redhead. "bye." the two girls spoke looking over at shane as isabella walked over to her best friends side.

shane walked over to the car waving at the two girls before getting inside. the duo stood there watching the car drive off, as isabella put her arm around her friend. "wanna go meet my baby brother now?" emma spoke holding the knitted hat as the redhead nodded following her best friend inside. the duo stood in the door frame looking over at spike and snake holding her baby brother. "hey whos that pretty girl? thats your sister, her names emma." snake spoke waving the babys hand at the blonde. emma smiled waving at her baby brother back. isabella smiled looking at the family. "emma go sit down so i can take a picture." isabella spoke as emma made her way over to her family, grabbing the camera that was on the table. isabella took a couple pictures then made her way over beside emma holding her hand looking down at the baby smiling.
