Charismatic chatter and bright lights flooded the streets as you and your best friend, Kakyoin Noriaki, strolled down the streets of Cairo, Egypt. Both you and Noriaki's parents were on a business trip in Cairo and since you were old enough your parents brought you along, as per usual. "See, I told you they didn't accept your fancy credit cards, Noriaki. You're lucky I had some spare change on me or you would have been do-" Kakyoin cut you off with a large hand over your face "Whatever (y/n). Compared to many times I've saved your ass with my, as you say "fancy credit card", this is nothing." He teased, earning a shove that was futile in the end due to his rather large build.

We hardly payed attention to where we were walking and in turn ended up bumping into a burley man in a maroon cloak. As you took in his features you realized he had golden hair and beaming red eyes, though you couldn't quite make out his face due to the late hour. You were about to apologize, until you were consumed by an overwhelming feeling of intimidation and fear towards the man. You couldn't utter a word or even blink without dreading the end of your existence.  What was this feeling? It feels as if ice is creeping through your veins, feeling as if you're drowning in the murkiest water and only being pulled down further and further.

"-n). (y/n)! Hello? Anyone home?" Kakyoin snaps you back to reality by gently shaking you around. "What happened back there?" He asked "You look like you're about to collapse. Are you ok?" You could barely pay attention to what he was saying as you looked around for the man, only to find him gone as if he never existed in the first place. "h-huh?" you uttered, still not able to form coherent sentences. You heard Kakyoin call your name and while you heard him say something, you couldn't register that he was trying to gain your attention. You directed your gaze towards him. More specifically his eyes. They were a beautiful mauve color, or.. were they amethyst? If you stare a little longer maybe you could find out.

"(y/n) I'm worried about you. Can you even hear me?" He inquired. You only snapped back into reality after realizing there was in fact consciousness behind those eyes that could see you staring. "oh. oh! yes i-i'm fine Noriaki. Sorry to worry you like that but I'm ok." you gave him a small grin hoping to subside his worries, though you knew your answer did nothing to ease his anxieties. "Geez (y/n), the least you could do is tell the truth. Lets go back to the hotel and get you a place to lay down." You could only mumble a small ok while being tugged along by Kakyoin. You couldn't help but take one last glance over your shoulder in search of the man, but it seems he really had vanished making you question if he was just a figment of your imagination.

You walked along side Kakyoin, yet a sliver of fear lingered in the air as you walked down the deserted streets. Hadn't they been bustling just moments ago? You shook it off as everyone leaving for their beds while you had your little episode. As you walked you could feel the air get colder, making the hairs on your neck stand at attention. You became more on edge and looked to Kakyoin for comfort, only to find him just as scared if not more than you. Your gut was churning as if screaming at you to turn around and run anywhere but here, yet you couldn't do anything but follow Kakyoin like a lost puppy. "Uhm, N-noriaki? Do you-?" He cut you off with a timid 'yes' that sounded so small it surprised even him. If that didn't set off blaring alarms of panic in your head you didn't know what would.

Suddenly, Kakyoin jerked to a halt earning your gaze. As you were about to ask of his wellbeing, you heard a tender voice behind you. Though it was clearly attempting to be soothing as if talking to a small child, it shook you to the very core and you know Kakyoin felt the same. "Easy my dears ~Theres nothing to be afraid of" The voice cooed. You didn't even have to face the speaker to know who this was without any doubt in your mind. "This man, he's so illusive he made me think I imagined the whole thing.. who is this guy?" you thought to yourself and could tell Kakyoin had the same thoughts.

"Why don't we be friends~?" the voice came again, now feeling his breath on the back of your neck and a rough hand graze your arm. Once again, he was sounding as if you two were lost children and he was trying to lead you home. Though you knew this couldn't be further than the truth. Suddenly, all these bad feelings were gone, and replaced with relief. "What? Any breath could be my last, yet I can't help but feel I'm safe. What kind of power does this man possess?" you felt as if your legs would give out at any second, and your stomach would betray you and spill your most recent meal all over the rocky streets of Cairo. Your head started feeling hazy, and your eyes started to feel as if they were full of sand. Though you could barely see, you caught sight of tentacles slithering towards you and around your body. As your vision slowly went, the last thing you were sure you saw was gnashing, pointed teeth nearing your face. As much as you wanted to save yourself and best friend, your body betrayed you and lost conciseness causing you to tumble to the ground and leave you to your demise. So you thought.
